Role
We are looking to recruit a Sight Loss Information Worker to join the Sight Scotland Veterans team. You will provide support via the charity’s new Sight Loss Information Line service which will involve;
- Providing veterans with sight loss, their families, carers and relevant stakeholders information and support via the information line service.
- Provision of accessible, tailored and relevant information around sight loss and its impact.
- Ensuring appropriate referrals into Sight Scotland Veterans via an assessment and triaging process.
- Working alongside the Sight Scotland Veterans marketing team to raise awareness of the information line and all that Sight Scotland Veterans do to support veterans with sight loss throughout Scotland.
As a personable individual who is a natural listener and skilled communicator, you will have prior experience of supporting individuals at difficult times. You will be part of a high performing team which will lead the charity to continued success in meeting the aspirations of those who we support. Your role will involve supporting the new information line service to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes that make a difference to people’s lives.

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our People team at Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans.
You will work proactively as part of our People Team to provide professional HR support across our various services. This is a challenging and varied role with a key focus on HR project work which includes management and organisational development, as well as responsibility for HR casework for designated services.
You will have experience of working as a business partner, taking the lead in shaping and driving forward HR projects as well providing direct high quality HR advice and support to managers. You will have a good knowledge of employment law and hold a CIPD level 5 qualification or be working towards this. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive professional relationships at all levels are also required to thrive in this role.
This role will be carried out on a blended homeworking basis therefore it is essential that you are able to work independently, develop strong working relationships and have excellent organisational and time management skills.

We are looking for an experienced, organised and dynamic person to join our Independent Living Team as the Senior Rehabilitation Officer covering three regional teams across Scotland.
The Independent Living Team supports those who have served in the Armed Forces and now have sight loss which has an impact on their daily life and independence. You will report to the Rehabilitation Practice Lead and will carry a small caseload. In addition you will provide expertise, supervision and advice to the rehabilitation officers/trainees.
You must be an experienced rehabilitation officer who is willing to take on new management challenges and has the expertise to mentor and supervise junior rehabilitation officers/trainees.
You must be a strong team player and be able to work on own initiative. This post may require some travel throughout Scotland, but will mainly be home based or from either Head Office in Edinburgh or the Hawkhead Centre in Paisley. However, remote working will be considered for those located out with these areas.

We are looking to recruit a Veterans Community Lead to join the Sight Scotland Veterans team. You will work with the Information and Support Manager, to lead on the charity’s new national ‘centre without walls’ service for veterans with sight loss, which will involve;
- Supervision of the ‘centre without walls’ team, which will include a number of volunteers.
- Day to day oversight of the ‘centre without walls’ which includes sporting opportunities, telephone/digital groups and IT support.
- Raising awareness of Sight Scotland Veterans and the activities offered alongside the marketing team

- Day to day oversight of Sight Scotland Veterans grants provision.
- Raising awareness of financial support available to veterans and their carers and upskilling of the Sight Scotland Veterans teams to ensure consistent practice
As a driven individual who is a skilled communicator, you will have prior experience of working within a financial support, benefits advice or grants provision role. You will be part of a high performing team which will lead the charity to continued success in meeting the aspirations of those who we support. Your role will involve supporting the creation of the financial wellbeing service and leading the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes that make a difference to people’s lives.
