Kibble is Scotland’s specialist provider of services for at risk children and young people. By providing a range of integrated services, we help build positive futures for children and young people aged 5 plus, with complex social, emotional and educational needs.

Job Purpose

We are seeking to recruit a Service Manager, known as, a Foster Family Placement Supervisor to join our existing team, on a one-year fixed term basis to cover for maternity leave (secondment arrangement may also be possible).

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service which combines intensive fostering and adult placement services within the context of Kibble’s community-based services including residential homes, for which they will also have Duty Manager and On Call responsibilities.

The post holder must be a proactive and forward-thinking practitioner with a focus on delivering a high-quality service through strong leadership and relational engagement.

Fostering Management

You will co-ordinate and actively participate in the recruitment, assessment and preparation training of prospective carers and provide support and guidance to existing approved carers. You will also provide supervision and support to external independent assessors. In addition, supervising staff key working young people within the fostering service.

Residential Community Service Management

You will be required to have an overview of and provide support through the Duty Manager rota and On Call rota (when required) to the Community based residential team(s) associated with IFS; residential patterns and hours of work can therefore be required.

Create Paisley (CREATE) is an innovative youth arts project aiming to reduce loneliness and inequality. Since 2009, this impressive charity has provided young people with the opportunity to express their creativity in a safe and inspiring space. Their goal is to increase this support for young people, offering them more opportunities that fit in line with their vision to see ‘young people transformed through creativity, community, confidence and finding their voice’.

CREATE began in response to local young people looking for a safe, inspiring space. At the time, there were so many capable, creative young people. Initially forming as a partnership between local churches and youth leaders, a monthly open-mic night was set up. In 2012, CREATE was constituted as a charity and increased the offering to include regular arts workshops, youth mentoring, a youth forum and fortnightly drop-ins. Through a mix of programmes, young people are supported to develop skills, support networks and strength to succeed and fulfil their ambitions. CREATE now runs programme across 6 locations in Renfrewshire.

Due to an exciting period of growth and access to new funding, the opportunity has arisen for a new Youth Work Manager to join the incredible Create Paisley team. Managing a team of six, the Youth Work Manager will support and equip the team to grow and develop high-quality creative youth work provision throughout Renfrewshire, overseeing the delivery and development of programmes in response to young people’s ideas.

The right candidate for the role will be a people person, with excellent communication and storytelling abilities. You will be a creative thinker, a good listener and able to adapt and develop continuously. The new Youth Work Manager will have the ability to replicate the charity model across a variety of communities in order to support as many young people as possible. You must be able to deliver a strong performance management culture, designing, developing and delivering a diverse range of activities and support programmes for young people including those with challenging behaviour and of varied abilities.

A minimum of five years’ experience working with young people within a community youth work setting is essential for the role. Create Paisley are also looking for somebody who has three years of experience managing staff and volunteers. In addition to this, Youth Work Manager must either possess a CLD certificate or have extensive experience working with young people. The post entails working with vulnerable people.

Imagine a well-equipped and attractive activity space kitted out with a range of digital technology where young people are able to make, create, experiment and explore. Although we ask you to imagine this, digital makerspaces already exist and our TEK CARE project will co-create new digital makerspaces with and for care experienced young people right across Scotland.

YMCA Scotland is leading the TEK CARE partnership with 5 other organisations: Barnardos Scotland, Mohr Collective, Renfrewshire Council, Scottish Tech Army and Youthlink Scotland. This is a Life Changes Trust Legacy Project.

We are seeking a brilliant & passionate individual to lead this project, working directly with a Steering group led by care experienced young people.

Joining our People Team, the People First Coordinator will work with our programmes across the organisation to define and embed our People First approach which has wellbeing at it’s heart.

The role will promote employee wellbeing throughout our organisation including all aspects of working life, the climate at work and in the organisation.

We are looking for you to have a relevant professional qualification or have a comparable level of relevant work experience. We’d also like you to have gained experience of working in a third sector or ‘not for profit’ organisation and have an understanding of a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE).
