Role

The Promise Scotland is seeking to appoint independent non-executive directors. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical governance role with one of the most important and challenging change programmes underway in Scotland.

You will have an understanding of, commitment to, and a passion for keeping the promise made to Scotland’s children, young people and families and an understanding of the ‘care system’.

You will display objectivity, fairness, independence of mind, integrity, wisdom, discretion and good judgement in your commitment to act solely in the best interests of The Promise Scotland. With clear strategic vision, you will also have the ability to focus on practical issues. You will be a good team player and ready to take and be accountable for decisions.

Non-executive directors need to be wholeheartedly committed to #KeepThePromise, thoughtful about what is needed, and brave. But you don’t need to have an in-depth knowledge or experience of governance. A comprehensive induction and training will be given to all successful candidates.
