Actify is a social enterprise that provides training and technology for the sport and physical activity (PA) sector that increases knowledge and impact.
We bring together a unique combination of skills and expertise in sport, PA and digital technology that enables us to connect people with the information they need to achieve the best outcomes possible.
Our training helps organisations develop and deliver person centred, outcome focused sport and PA programmes.
The Actify digital platform, and our related support services, enable sports and PA organisations to host and manage a range of digital content that increases their reach, impact and sustainability.
We develop our products and services collaboratively with stakeholders from policy, funding, research and practice to ensure our work is responding to needs and interests from across the sector.
As a social enterprise we are focused on working towards long term social change and equality, with all profit being reinvested in achieving our mission and not landing in shareholders pockets. This doesn’t mean we aren’t a serious business, we are entirely focused on being the absolute best and most efficient we can be, it just means that all those involved in the company are doing something excellent and helping make the world a slightly better place.
We are currently recruiting an Active Play Project Coordinator to help us plan and deliver the training and resource package that Actify provides as part of the Active Play programme.
Please visit go.actify.org.uk for more information on the organisation.
The Active Play Project Coordinator will work closely with the Active Play Project Lead and Head of Training to plan and deliver a range of training events and produce a range of digital support resources for the Active Play programme. This will require a creative and energetic person who is motivated to work within a small but growing team and with a range of nursery, school and community based staff.
The Active Play programme was conceived to address problems related to low levels of physical activity during childhood that lead to a range of preventable physical and mental health problems. Increasing children's physical literacy through play is a central outcome of the programme.
The programme has been in existence since 2011, consistently delivering positive outcomes for children in Scotland. The programme has been developed through a unique set of partnerships that brings together expertise in play, physical activity, policy, funding, training, research and evaluation.
The programme is currently delivered widely in Glasgow City Council primary schools with expansion into nurseries and community settings in Glasgow and the Highlands planned for the 2022-23 school year.
Actify provides training and delivery resources for play workers, teachers, nursery workers and sports coaches who in turn deliver sessions to children aged 3-12 in a range of settings.
The Project Coordinator will work closely with the rest of the Actify team to help support the next exciting stage of development for the project. They will ensure that the programme is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standards possible. The Project Coordinator will also have opportunities to work closely with the Technology team with Actify to develop a range of digital skills.
