Purpose of the role
To work as a member of a Housing First Team, which aims to offer support to single homeless women, providing permanent housing directly to homeless individuals with ongoing assertive but flexible support, with a strong focus on harm reduction and sustainable tenancy within the community. Women only need apply under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010. You will be required to provide creative permanent housing solutions, whilst providing support consistent with the internationally recognised Housing First Fidelities:
• People have a right to a home
• Flexible support is provided for as long as is needed
• Housing and support are separated
• Individuals have choice and control
• An active engagement approach is used
• The service is based on people’s strengths, goals and aspirations

Saheliya is a specialist mental health and well-being support organisation for women and girls (12+) living with and/or surviving from experiences of racial inequality compounded by gender-based abuse, living in Scotland. We promote mental well-being by combating the effects of discrimination and abuse, reducing the stigma of mental health, improving access to mainstream services and dismantling the structural inequality that exists for minority ethnic women.
This is an exceptional opportunity to have a lead role in a unique and innovative organisation helping to change the lives of some of Scotland’s most marginalised and at risk women and children and gendered abuse, reducing the stigma of mental illness, and improving access to mainstream services while enabling women to also move on into opportunities for self-development and employment.
Saheliya’s services and partnership work extends through healthcare, housing, education, employment, immigration and access to justice- delivered across Edinburgh, the Lothians, and Greater Glasgow, as well as wider Scotland.

Fife Women’s Aid are looking for a Women’s Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support to women with experience of domestic abuse. Candidates should have a good understanding of working with people who have experienced trauma, have experience in providing direct support and have good communication skills.
The successful applicant(s) will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in social care or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification.
