The new Volunteering Manager will support the Director of Learning and Volunteering in the recruitment, support and development of volunteers within the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. The Volunteering Manager will take a lead on volunteer relationship management, training, project management and shaping systems, policies and procedures which facilitate group activity. The Institute’s aim is to partner with volunteers, enabling them to join them in achieving the organisational objectives. You will ensure all volunteers are inducted and stewarded through their time as volunteers as well as being responsible for recognition for volunteers. You will be a line manager to the Volunteer Network Assistant and work closely with the Senior Events Manager to ensure that volunteer conferences and events are delivered to a high standard.
You will have experience of working with or managing volunteers, preferably within a charity or membership organisation as well experience of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. It is vital that the new Volunteering Manager understands that overseeing volunteers can be different to managing staff, as well as being aware of the importance of volunteers. We are looking for a driven individual who is able to create solutions using their own initiative as well as being full of ideas and creating a plan to bring them to life. You will have proven relationship management as well as experience in dealing with tougher relationships and handling difficult conversations.
