Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) is the National Development Body for Scotland’s museums and galleries sector – this includes 440 museums and galleries of all sizes and organisational types. In January 2024, the Scottish Government accepted the recommendations of the Empire, Slavery & Scotland’s Museums (ESSM) Steering Group, set up to advise on how Scotland’s museums and galleries can better reflect the country’s role in empire, colonialism, and historic slavery. Museums need help to develop skills and confidence in this work. MGS is now looking to appoint an Events Assistant who will support the delivery of training and networking opportunities to assist with implementation of the recommendations. The role will also assist museums to develop resources to embed race equality and anti racism in the curriculum.

You will work collaboratively with the ESSM Manager and support effective relationships with partner organisations, training providers and programme participants. You will bring excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills, a strong customer focus and a can-do approach, with an awareness of anti-oppression.

MGS is looking for an ESSM Manager to oversee the delivery of actions identified for MGS in supporting museums to implement the recommendations. They will work with colleagues and Scottish museums to centre anti racism and anti-colonial principles in their work. The post holder will be expected to measure and report on progress of the recommendations.

Who we are – The Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust is a registered charity that promotes and supports school and youth pipe bands throughout Scotland. We have extensive relationships with autonomous school groups, local authorities and third-party organisations who share our interests in this field.

What we are looking for – an entrepreneurial and driven person holding extensive experience of fundraising and with a genuine interest in making it easier for local volunteer groups to raise funds for their pipe-bands. There is tremendous scope for sponsorships and grants as well as creating opportunities for local people to leave gifts in their will, and helping to boost cost-effective event fundraising.

Have you had extensive experience of fundraising and want to play a part in making this easier for others? Are you interested in innovative landscape design as well as improving garden maintenance — designing local fund raising schemes and templates as well as guiding volunteers into thinking the unthinkable?

Relationships Scotland is the largest provider of family and relationship support in the country. We offer relationship counselling, family mediation and child contact centres through a network of 21 Member Services across Scotland. Around 18,000 people receive a face-to-face service each year.

We are looking to appoint a new treasurer to join our Board. The treasurer will be responsible for overseeing financial matters on behalf of our Board and will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation has robust financial processes to ensure it meets its legal and constitutional requirements. While we encourage and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, we are keen to hear from candidates that have experience of charity financial management or are chartered in a suitable accountancy field.

This role would include four board meetings a year (currently a mix of in person and online), along with four online Office Bearer meetings each year, and our AGM.

We want our Board to reflect the diversity of the modern communities we work with, and value the benefits of having different experience and points of view on our Board.
