Role

We’re excited to be recruiting this new Policy, Projects and Participation Officer role to support the work of our busy and growing Policy, Projects and Participation team.

As Scotland moves towards incorporation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, we’ve been developing our support offer to our members to help them embed child rights approaches in their organisations. At the same time we have a number of new and exciting projects coming on stream, supporting children and young people to have a say and influence policy, services and organisations.

We need someone to help us deliver our new projects and UNCRC incorporation offer as part of our existing experienced team. We are looking for someone who is organised, values driven and who has knowledge and experience of child rights approaches and engaging with children and young people.

You’ll be part of an enthusiastic, committed and supportive team working in an organisation whose goal is to ensure that all children in Scotland have an equal chance to flourish.

*Location: Children in Scotland is Edinburgh based but, until further notice, this role will be remote/home-based, with some travel to Edinburgh required for meetings and the option of use of office space in Edinburgh and/or Glasgow. Arrangements will be reviewed, with staff involvement, throughout the 2022-23 year.

About Children in Scotland

Giving all children in Scotland an equal chance to flourish is at the heart of everything we do.

By bringing together a network of people working with and for children, alongside children and young people themselves, we offer a broad, balanced and independent voice. We create solutions, provide support and develop positive change across all areas affecting children in Scotland. We do this by listening, gathering evidence, and applying and sharing our learning, while always working to uphold children’s rights.
