Role

Scottish Refugee Council is an independent human rights charity that has been supporting and advocating for the rights of refugees since 1985. Our work involves the provision of services and support to refugees, advocating and campaigning for change and improvements to legislation and policy in Scotland and the UK and supporting the integration of refugees into society. We are enhancing and expanding our advice services and have new exciting opportunities to join our organisation and contribute to improve lives for those fleeing atrocities and looking to make Scotland their home.

This post holder will provide high quality casework and support to homeless and destitute asylum seekers in order to mitigate isolation and help them identify a resolution to their situation. Support and accommodation needed to enable this will be co-ordinated with partners. You will be working on one to one basis with service users, assess their situation and needs and work with them and their legal representatives to identify the best course of action to get them out of destitution.
