Bethany Christian Trust is looking for a Community Resettlement worker to support nine tenants in the East End of Glasgow. The project provides support to individuals with tenancy sustainment, community engagement, and the development of healthy social networks.

We are looking for a candidate who will deliver and continue to develop the service. A significant part of the role will be to facilitate life skills learning, both one-to-one and in a group work setting. This will involve the post holder creating and delivering structured resources as well as signposting on to other relevant support services.

The successful candidate will be organised and proactive with activities as well as maintaining ongoing relationships with our local church partner (Parkhead Nazarene and The Charter) and other organisations across the wider Glasgow area.

DVVA and the Protecting People Strategic Support Team based within Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership are seeking a passionate and dedicated Authentic Voices Project Manager to play a pivotal role in amplifying the voices and experiences of individuals with lived experience within strategic planning and decision-making forums. This will include an initial focus on the protecting people partnerships and committees. This position is instrumental in supporting a whole system culture shift in strategic spaces and ensuring that the needs, perspectives, and insights of the individuals we serve are authentically represented and integrated into the development and improvement of our programs and initiatives.

The post holder will be employed by Dundee Volunteer Voluntary Action and co-located to work as a member of the Protecting People Strategic Support Team (based within Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership).

Ideally you’ll have experience of supporting the engagement of people with lived experience as well as networking with a variety of partners and stakeholders. You’ll be able to balance the differing needs and expectations of those you are working with to facilitate successful working relationships and outcomes. Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject, and with significant working experience, you’ll have experience of project management and delivering change programmes.

Job description and person specification

Role Purpose: To coordinate proactive, assertive Crew nightlife harm reduction and early intervention development to encourage, motivate and support people to make positive choices about drugs including alcohol, reducing mental and physical harms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Delivery

1. Coordinate delivery of assertive nightlife harm reduction services in at least 6nightlife/festival spaces providing harm reduction information resources, safer sex materials, evidence-based, solution-focussed Brief Interventions and welfare as required.
2. Encourage people at events who take drugs to access Crew services, or appropriate support services in their local area.
3. Encourage Blood Borne Virus testing and Take-Home Naloxone via the Crew Drop-in or their local service.
4. Responsible for the health, safety and security of the working environment during events, including advance and dynamic risk assessments for Crew staff, sessional workers and volunteers, ensuring that Crew meets legal and statutory requirements.
5. Lead the effective advance planning, resourcing and delivery of Crew nightlife harm reduction services, responsive to the needs of people who take drugs.
6. Network, liaise and work in partnership with event organisers and relevant stakeholders.
7. Deliver 3 interactive workshop events annually on nightlife harm reduction on drug awareness and crisis intervention including physical and mental health emergencies, sexual violence, spiking.
8. Work with project Coordinators to plan and deliver regular recruitment, selection, training, induction and line management for Crew volunteers.
9. Lead and coordinate a small team including employees, sessional workers and volunteers.
10. Provide consultancy on welfare and safety improvements within nightlife spaces through the Safer Nightlife Working Group.

Evaluation

• Design and deliver surveys capturing anonymous data to identify health behaviours/trends.
• Collate and analyse evidence to produce internal and external reports on survey findings, service impact and quality timeously (event-specific, quarterly and annual reporting, contribute to annual ‘Drug Trends at Crew’ report).
• Evaluate, summarise and share data collected to inform service, training and resource development.

DEVELOPMENT TASKS

• Develop the case for minimum harm reduction standards for event operation and licensing, transferring evidence-based practices from other European partnerships including NewNet.
• Support the work of the Scottish Drug Checking Project
• Work closely with CEO and Emerging Trends and Training Coordinator to develop Crew Communications Strategy.

The Service

The Link Academy team works primarily with people with complex backgrounds. The service works hard and creatively to maintain the early engagement of participants. We support people by offering mental health and wellbeing programmes, independent living skills and a wide range of qualifications to support their progression including employability, tenancy, personal development and leadership award qualifications.

The Job

The purpose of the job is to support people to achieve their goals and aspirations through group work by providing opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills. You will be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting the programme participants. You will support the achievement of high standards and provide monitoring information in relation to the project’s outcomes.

You will ensure that opportunities are provided to people equipping them with the skills to make a valuable contribution to the service and their wider community. You will support people into a positive destination whether that be re-engagement with education, training or employment. The Project Worker will provide support and offer guidance to programme participants, develop relationships with other agencies and services and actively promote LinkLiving’s programmes and services.

About You

You have a good standard of education with standard grade passes (or equivalent) in core subjects such as English and Maths. Your background includes a proven track record of co-ordinating training courses, showcasing your organisational and logistical skills. You are knowledgeable about the Trauma Skilled Practice Framework (NES Framework) and understand its application. Additionally, you have experience working with individuals who have complex needs or backgrounds, demonstrating your ability to handle diverse and challenging situations.

Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is essential. You possess a solid understanding of the employability sector and volunteering initiatives, enabling you to contribute effectively to our mission. Your excellent written and oral communication skills allow you to convey information clearly and effectively.

You have experience in developing and delivering training programmes, showing your ability to educate and inspire others. Understanding and applying evaluation methods to ensure the effectiveness of training is another of your strengths, ensuring continuous improvement. You possess a non-judgemental attitude and a willingness to embrace diversity, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.

Adaptability is one of your key traits, allowing you to thrive in new environments and challenges with ease. You work openly and honestly within a team setting, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work culture.
