Social Media Officer

  • £21,840 – £23,660 pro-rata
  • Home based remote working and/or in MIN’s office in Maryhill (MIN supports flexible working arrangements)

  • 15 hrs per week, Work Pattern - generally Monday - Friday 15 hours per week flexible between 9.30am - 8pm, in accordance with the needs of the organisation. You may on occasion be required to adjust your work pattern to cover excursions or events at weekends or on public holidays. Contract – 12 months with a 6-month probationary period. Subject to performance and funding, we hope to increase the length of the contract.
  • 28 days Annual Holiday plus Public Holidays allowance pro rata and 3% employer pension contribution

Role

The role will predominantly be to support the organisation to promote and inform the general public, our service users, funders and stakeholders about MIN’s work across our social media platforms, in line with our core values and our strategic objectives with the strategic goals to:

  1. Provide advice, support and advocacy for asylum seekers and refugees, and promote empowerment through confidence building, learning, skills development, and voluntary opportunities.
  2. Take measures to combat racism and discrimination in order to promote feelings of safety and belonging.
  3. Create a welcoming and culturally sensitive environment as a basis to strengthen social bonds across the community through which to develop innovative projects and activities.
  4. Be a forward-looking organisation that develops opportunities for volunteers, staff and partners to uphold our values and work towards our vision and mission.

The postholder will be contributing positively to cross-team working within our vibrant organisation, where all ideas are valued, and innovation is encouraged. We are looking for someone with the interest to develop their skills as we take on new opportunities in creating a social media strategy. The role represents an exciting opportunity for people with a real enthusiasm and commitment to positive and dignified social media output.
