About the role

An ambitious approach needs a talented co-ordinator! As the main point of contact for the project you will:

• Coordinate all strands of the project and ensure deadlines and outcomes are met

• Support the planning of training, events and meetings

• Carry out day to day administrative tasks and ensure the smooth running of the project.

As an organised, motivated and trustworthy team player, you’ll ensure that all those working on the project are working together to achieve the agreed aims.

You will also be an integral link between the staff/volunteers and the leadership team. You will share the responsibility of ensuring that learnings from the project are communicated effectively across all levels of the organisation and in turn, decisions made by the leadership team in response to the project are fed back to relevant stakeholders.

About you

First and foremost you will be highly organised, motivated and able to work independently to agreed outcomes. You will have experience co-ordinating projects as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. We recognise that you may not have a background in youth participation but an understanding of why working alongside young people is vital for the organisation’s future.

How we’ll support you

We will ensure a flexible approach to your work combining office-based hours and the opportunity to work from home. Likewise, we will be flexible in how you achieve your 16 hours per week, should you wish to work two full days or work selected hours across the full week.

You’ll have an enthusiastic, knowledgeable team of staff and volunteers, and a supportive and experienced senior manager. You’ll also have access to wider Cyrenians support, including our learning and development programme, and staff wellbeing services.

Our People Team supports our staff to do their jobs safely and effectively, covering all aspects of HR, learning and development, and volunteering. We are looking for an efficient, reliable and proactive individual to support our people functions, particularly the coordination of our staff recruitment and on-boarding processes. The role also provides support to our Compliance and Corporate Services colleagues and is a point of contact for general enquiries to the organisation.

We are recruiting an Executive Secretary for a new public body, Redress Scotland. The Executive Secretary will be responsible for providing a holistic administrative support and coordination service to the leadership team at Redress Scotland.

The role carries a high level of autonomy and covers a broad and diverse remit to the very highest standard. Redress Scotland is a fast paced environment and requires someone who is confident and assured whilst being able to pre-empt and problem solve and make informed decisions to make things happen. The Executive Secretary will work closely with the Governance Secretary and work to support the governance function, including administration of meetings.

Redress Scotland is a newly created public body, and as such is still at an early stage of development. The Executive Secretary will have a key role in establishing the systems, processes and procedures required to ensure Redress Scotland has an efficient and effective executive and senior management functions, that comply with organisational expectations and procedural rules for which are approved by Scottish Ministers.

About Edinburgh Food Project

Edinburgh Food Project was established in 2012 with the aim of reducing the effects of food poverty in Edinburgh by providing emergency food parcels to those in the community most in need. Over the last three years, we have been transitioning our 7 foodbank centres into “More than Food” hubs to allow our clients to access dedicated support to help them with their immediate and underlying problems to reduce/eliminate their need for food bank assistance and build their financial resilience for the future.

Edinburgh Food Project are now going through a period of change, developing their strategy to reflect the Scottish Government Consultation: Ending the need for foodbanks, and the Poverty Commission’s Report, A Just Capital.

Purpose of Role:

Working alongside the Money Advice Service, the role of Referral Administrator is to triage clients referred by the Scottish Welfare Fund, the Money Advice Helpline and for those clients who contact EFP direct. In addition, the role involves general administrative tasks such as answering phone calls and emails, creating client records and arranging appointments with Money Advice Service advisers.
