Stirling Carers Centre (SCC) is a well-regarded and successful charity/organisation providing tailored information, advice, emotional and practical support to young people and adults who look after a relative or friend who, due to illness, disability, mental health conditions or addiction, could not manage without their help.
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic person to join our Adult Carers Support Service. The role will involve the further development of existing adult Carer groups, development of new groups and will plan, organise and facilitate these groups moving forward. The purpose of these Carer groups is to reduce Carer stress, allow Carers a life outside of caring and provide welcome Carer respite.
Regular evaluations of groups and obtaining Carer feedback will be key to the development and improvement of these groups to ensure that Carers needs are being met. The post holder should always be looking for gaps in services that could support adult Carers, and will be proactive in finding ways to fill these gaps.
The nature of this role will involve supporting Adult Carers by occasionally providing one to one support, as discussions around caring roles can occur in group situations. The role will involve some partnership and community working with a diverse range of agencies, including health and social care services.
Experience of working with and being able to engage directly with Carers and those they care for is an essential element of this role. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Adult Carer Support Officers, and be able to provide annual leave cover as and when required.
