Role
We are currently seeking an experienced community engagement coordinator to join our small, but fast-paced engagement team to support our neighbourhoods in Glasgow & Dundee.
As part of a ground-breaking £12.5 million government funded project, Blackwood is seeking to create neighbourhoods that support people as they age so they can live five more healthy, active years.
Working with a wide range of partners and co-designing with the local community, these neighbourhoods will combine technology, designing, products and services in a physical and digital environment.
The overall programme will operate across three demonstrator neighbourhoods in Scotland, with industry and academic partners. It addresses five themes:
- Sustaining Physical Activity
- Designing Age-Friendly Homes
- Managing the Common Complaints of Ageing
- Creating Healthy and Active Places
- Supporting Social Connections
The successful applicant will lead our engagement with local people, external stakeholders and project partners in two of our three demonstrator neighbourhoods. This post will cover the Charleston(Dundee) and Cardonald(Glasgow) neighbourhoods. You will work with local people to co-design solutions and services that meet the needs of the neighbourhoods involved. You will also develop and host engagement events that support co-design. You will recruit participants for these engagement events, whilst also involving local stakeholders including activity groups, businesses, charities and more. Regular travel between neighbourhoods and occasionally to our head office (Edinburgh) will be expected. There will also be a requirement to work some evenings and weekends
The ideal candidate will bring the following
- Great organisation skills, with the ability to design and deliver a range of engagement activities, including recruitment and facilitation
- Demonstrable experience of building relationships with multi-disciplinary stakeholders and commercial partner organisations
- Personal resilience with the ability to lead and motivate local people and volunteers to champion the life chances of people living in those areas

The Supported Housing Worker role requires assisting in the management of the development thus ensuring the tenants are able to enjoy an acceptable standard of living in an environment which is clean, safe and friendly. You will be responsible for overseeing the wellbeing of the tenants and for assisting them in maintaining their independence.
As Housing Care Worker your role will involve working with our tenants to ensure they receive the support and personal care identified in their care plans. You will directly support tenants in their homes by providing individual advice, practical housing support assistance and personal care.

About the Role:
As Service Manager, you will be responsible for providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for homeless people within your service. You will manage and lead a team delivering quality housing support/accommodation and housing management service and to support people with multi-complex needs/homeless in crisis (and/or previously looked after or accommodated young people) to build their skills and confidence to sustain their own tenancy.
Main Responsibilities:
As Service Manager, you will:
- Lead, manage and develop the staff team and others where appropriate (e.g. students, trainees etc.) to meet the objectives of the service, delegating tasks where appropriate.
- Promote and encourage the professional development of staff, including onboarding, supervision, core competencies, in-house training and external training.
- Ensure adequate staffing cover is provided for the service at all times by appropriate shift rotas and deployment of employees, both permanent and relief.
- Manage all aspects of the service in line with Blue Triangle, statutory and legislative requirements and take a lead role in the strategic development of the service.
About You:
- To join us, you need to have a genuine passion for helping people.
- You will already be a registered manager with the Scottish Social Services Council, hold a minimum of SCQF Level 7 (SVQ 3) in Social Care but willing to complete an SCQF Level 9 (SVQ4) as soon as possible and have experience of managing and motivating a team.
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to undertake care practice in accordance with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) code of practice, National Care Standards, Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and the Associations policies and procedures.
- Ability to relate empathetically to people and recognise their right to choice and independence.
- Able to use Microsoft or equivalent applications competently.
