Home-Start Glasgow South Family Support Communications Officer
Responsible to: Assistant Director
Home-Start Glasgow South is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with young children. We are delighted to be adding new roles to our organisation and are looking to recruit a Communications Officer.
In this varied role, you’ll work closely and actively engage with colleagues to develop and implement our communication plans and campaigns.
Responsible for our website and social media, you’ll know how to create engaging content and take a proactive and creative approach across all digital channels. Your excellent written communications skills mean you’ll be comfortable writing, editing, and designing a range of materials, including leaflets, posters, news stories, and case studies. Naturally, you’ll bring working knowledge of software such as Canva/Adobe Creative Suite to create content, including short videos.
Additional duties will be to produce and distribute our newsletter, support the production and dissemination of our annual report content, and to monitor and evaluate all communications activity. You’ll also contribute to the work of our Fundraising Team to support the strategic management of the scheme.
For this role, experience of using a website content management system such as WordPress would be an advantage. The role demands a high level of accuracy and attention to detail as well as excellent organisational and admin skills. And, if you can bring knowledge of the voluntary sector and can drive your own car, that would be helpful. Please note that there may be occasional evening and weekend work required from time to time.
If you’d like to work as part of our friendly team in a changing environment, please download and complete the applications below.
Closing date: Friday 11th March at 5pm. If you would like more information, please contact theteam@homestartglasgowsouth.org.uk for an informal chat.
