Role

We are looking for 3 freelance artists – a digital storyteller, a film-maker and a podcaster – to join a team of story makers for 3 residencies delivered for Scotland’s Stories: Community Campfires

Scottish Book Trust is a national charity that believes books, reading and writing have the power to change lives. A love of reading inspires creativity, improves employment opportunities, mental health and wellbeing and is one of the most effective ways to help break the poverty cycle. We work towards a Scotland where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive through literacy.

This is an opportunity for three story makers, working in different media, to be part of a creative team making, sharing and celebrating stories from the lives of people in communities served by three host library services, as part of Scotland's Year of Stories. Each residency is hosted by one of Scotland's library services.

These residencies are supported by EventScotland as part of Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022.

Scottish Book Trust will recruit the following creative practitioners for the Community Campfires project:

Digital Storyteller

Filmmaker

Podcaster

Contract: Freelance, fixed term (total 13.5 days)

3 x 4 days delivery in each residency (likely Tuesday–Friday of the weeks listed above)

1.5 additional day's fee for planning meetings in advance of the residency
