Overview of Columba 1400
At Columba 1400 we help young people and the adults around them to be the change they want to see in the world. We want every young person to find the greatness that is inside them and since 2000 we’ve helped over 10,000 young people and adults transform their lives. We work shoulder-to-shoulder with young people and the adults around them helping them explore their core values and unlock their inner strength so they can make a difference to their community and transform their sense of identity, their confidence and their ambition. We do this through our Leadership Academies – transformational and inspirational experiences that unlock values, create the conditions for change and uncovers a strength that stands the test of time. With a deep understanding of their own core values, young people unlock an inner strength that can never be shut down – no matter what tough realities life throws at them.
Overall Purpose of Role
We want people to understand what we do and why we do it. We want young people and the adults around them to feel a warm welcome and a sense of a shared journey through all of our communication. This role will help connect our community, welcome people we have yet to meet and tell the great stories of young people and the adults around them who are leading change. We are looking for someone who lives and breathes their values and is highly experienced and skilled in communications, digital technology and media. You will be a team player, a connector, someone who can work with young people and adults to co-design content and tell stories of transformational change.

Overall Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to facilitate the delivery of our Young People’s Leadership Academies and to be alongside participants as they realise their true potential.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Columban Team to ensure the highest standards of delivery are maintained throughout our leadership academies as well as supporting the information and data gathering to demonstrate our impact.

Rite to Work Operations Manager

WorkingRite seeks to stop the cycle of deprivation and poverty that occur in so many communities across Scotland. We do this through our award-winning, youth employability programme, which sees practical work skills coupled with personal development, strengthened through a mentored work placement with a small, local business of the young person’s choice.
Our flexible, person-centred programme of training, support and work placements puts the young person at the heart of their future, helping those 15 – 24 years old who are furthest from the job market, to gain real skills and a foothold on the employability ladder. We have been operating as a charity since 2011 and in that time have supported over 3,500 young people into a positive destination. We currently operate programmes in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Argyll & Bute, Aberdeen and East Ayrshire.
WorkingRite have recently secured significant investment that will see us grow our work across the country. We have also recently appointed a new CEO who has a vision to see us increase our work in the 5 local authorities we already work in and expand into new areas of Scotland where the needs of young people are greatest.
All this means it is a very exciting time to be joining WorkingRite.
This exciting role will manage the delivery of the Rite to Work programme within secondary schools across our delivery areas. Developing the model across education authorities for growth and sustainability; the successful candidate will lead and inspire our team of Project Coordinators to deliver a comprehensive and quality programme which creates lasting impact for young school leavers.
This is a multifaceted role, that requires an ability to understand our on-ground delivery, whilst putting structures and processes in place that support the team in successfully delivering positives outcomes for the young people we support.
With significant investment recently received to grow Rite to Work, the ability to manage and engage and report on its progress internally and to key stakeholders including local authorities, education authorities and other key partners is key. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the organisational strategy forward and developing the Rite to Work programme as a recognised progression route for secondary school pupils across Scotland.

PATH (Scotland) is a small, dynamic award-winning national charity established in 1998 to address the absence of BAME communities in housing and employment using the positive action provisions of equalities legislation. We also run employability, mentoring and leadership programmes across Scotland.
Due to a restructure, we have an opportunity for a positive, motivated individual to lead our small team and develop our activities and services.
The Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and developing and implementing PATH (Scotland)’s business plan. They will represent PATH (Scotland) at all levels and ensure effective engagement with stakeholders. They will manage staff, ensure financial control and support and advise on good governance.

This exciting role will support young people from East Ayrshire to achieve employment and a positive future. Using WorkingRite’s work-based mentoring method and through the delivery of our in schools model Rite to Work; our Project Coordinators prepare young people for work placements with local businesses and support them in their placements while they learn new skills and gain confidence. It’s a simple model that works with large numbers of young people who complete the WorkingRite programme progressing to full time jobs or apprenticeships.
We require a Project Co-ordinator who can:
• Self-start and work on own initiative
• Work as part of a high functioning team
• Engage and motivate young people in groups and 1:1
• Build strong relationships with businesses
• Work to targets
• Offer new and creative ideas
• Deliver accredited and certificated learning opportunities
• Support young people with challenges and barriers to progression
You will be confident, have excellent communication skills and be well organised. Above all, you must be enthusiastic and want to support young people.
