Role
Scotland’s first modern hospice, St Columba’s Hospice Care first opened its doors in 1977. Over the years it has grown and evolved into an exemplary provider of specialist palliative care for thousands of people with life-limiting illnesses in Edinburgh and the Lothians, while also providing support to their relatives and loved ones. Our patients face a range of conditions, including cancer, respiratory disease, heart failure and MND.
St Columba’s Hospice Care has involved volunteers since it opened. We now have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join our Volunteer Services team, working with approximately 600 amazing volunteers in all areas of Hospice activity. You will provide comprehensive administrative support and will assist with the promotion and development of volunteering; including new volunteer initiatives and roles across St Columba’s Hospice Care, in our retail shops and in the community.
We are looking for an individual with a combination of strong database, administrative and people skills. You will maintain our volunteer database (Better Impact) on a day-to-day basis. You will review and improve our database procedures, ensuring the quality of data we hold, offer training and support to other users, and carry out a range of administrative functions including inputting data, carrying out data cleansing activities, extracting information and reports, and troubleshooting issues. You will offer a range of administrative and organisational functions within the Volunteer Services department, dealing with staff, volunteers and the public online, by telephone and face to face.
You should possess strong communication, organisational and MS Office skills and will ideally have some experience of volunteer management. Most importantly, you’ll be an enthusiastic and friendly individual, who enjoys dealing with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join our busy South East Recovery Service. Service. Our Administration team here at Change Grow Live play an integral part in supporting the team in our mission, proving administrative and clerical support to our teams enabling them to focus on delivering our services, ensuring our service users receive the help and support they need to achieve their goals. Acting as our first point of contact our Admin team are the face of our service, speaking with our service users face to face and via the telephone, are non-judgemental, empathetic and want to make a real difference to people’s lives.
Duties for the post include dealing with initial queries, welcoming service users and professionals into the service, signposting within the service and the community. The postholder will be expected to maintain a clean office environment with thorough attention to detail and a great telephone manner. A large focus of the role is on data input to Change Grow Live’s own database system and DaiSy, the national government reporting tool. Accurate input and attention to detail are critical for this role as is ensuring the data is kept up to date. The ability to extract data and provide reports on service activity and goals will also be required.
The successful candidate will have experience of providing administrative support in a service-based organisation, a good knowledge of general office procedures, excellent IT and literacy skills, and the ability to accurately manage databases and spreadsheets. They will also need good interpersonal skills as team working is essential in this role

The Senior Playleader will assist in implementing the organisation’s innovative childcare service. While ensuring that the Quality and Implementation of all Gingerbread & Edinburgh Lothians Ltd. after school clubs (ASC’s) are delivering childcare at the highest standard. Keeping with all local and national requirements.
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our joint Head Office and Scottish Braille Press reception at Robertson Avenue and providing an excellent level of customer service to colleagues, visitors and external contractors who visit or work within the building as well as those contacting Sight Scotland by post, email, or telephone. As well as coordinating front desk activities you will also be responsible for general office administration and facilities management tasks. You will also act as lead Fire Marshall and a nominated First Aider for the building.
