The Advocacy Project is a rights-based organisation that applies the Principles, Standards and Code of Best Practice as defined by the Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance (SIAA). The organisation is fast approaching a significant milestone, in that, 2022 will see The Advocacy Project organisation celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Due to the recent retirement of our long serving Operations Director, and following a subsequent internal promotion to that role, we now wish to offer the right individual an excellent opportunity to play a part in our achieving our organisational aspirations in terms of the future of our ‘Independent Advocacy’ provision as we embark upon a new 3-year agreement with the Glasgow City HSCP for the provision of ‘Independent Advocacy’ services.
We are looking for someone with the drive and clarity of vision to assist with the day-to-day and seamless delivery of our services across the East Renfrewshire, Glasgow City and South Lanarkshire HSCP’s to the benefit of our service users and key stakeholders whilst also helping The Advocacy Project to build upon its proud legacy.
The successful candidate will also have a key role as we continue to progress our COVD-19 Recovery Plan. The Advocacy Project is both soundly governed and well regarded, with a high performing, and talented leadership team in place. Moreover, the successful individual will be passionate about, and also committed to, our vision and mission to remain as one of Scotland’s leading organisations in terms of ‘Independent Advocacy’.
As a member of the organisation’s leadership team, the new appointee will lead a small team of Advocacy Workers in the day-to-day delivery of ‘Independent Advocacy’ services. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will be passionate about Quality Assurance and able to motivate, coach and support a small team of Advocacy Workers to deliver the highest quality ‘Independent Advocacy’ provision possible.
Internally you will be collegiate, an influencer and a reflective leader holding day-to-day accountability for thematic aspects of our work. Externally, the successful candidate will, proactively, build and then maintain relationships, whilst representing and promoting The Advocacy Project accordingly.
You will have an appropriate qualification, allied with relevant experience in a similar first line manager and/or supervisory type role where you actively contributed to your organisation’s strategic, business and service delivery objectives. You will also have relevant experience of leading positive change and improvement and be motivated to assist with the delivery of the objectives in our Charity’s Strategic Action Plan.
Whilst we are in the process of planning our transition back to that of office based working, The Advocacy Projects’ staff continue to work remotely at home and will continue to do so until it is appropriate to return to our office at Cumbrae House, Glasgow.
