Role

Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) believes that nothing should get in the way of being a child. We exist to transform the lives of children and young people in hospital so they can be a child first and a patient second.

This is a new role, and an exciting opportunity for an impact specialist to shape services, help us communicate our impact, and learn from and continually improve what we do.

The Social Impact Manager will support the Senior Management Team to develop an overarching evaluation framework for the charity with a strategy for monitoring and reporting across the organisation. You will work with multiple stakeholders to ensure we take a major step forward with our evaluation capabilities, helping us evidence the difference our work makes to children, young people and their families. Our goal is to leverage insights to maximise the impact we have over time, learning from feedback and building improvement into service design.

We are looking for an individual who is skilled and practised at:

  • designing and delivering monitoring and evaluation systems, using a range of fully accessible formats to produce qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • designing and facilitating co-design and participatory engagement approaches.
  • interpreting and analysing findings, using abductive thinking to draw insights.
  • presenting findings in interesting, engaging and remarkable ways to amplify our work.
  • reporting to stakeholders in a range of ways.
  • working with facilitators and others to develop understanding of evaluation and their role when capturing data or feedback
  • working with the leadership team to develop insights into actions to improve service design.

The role is ideally suited to an experienced individual who is seeking a flexible role in a dynamic, friendly organisation where they will have an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of babies, children and young people in hospital.

Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity operates from premises at 1st Floor, 1 Wester Shawfair, Danderhall, EH22 1FD and this post will be based here, with occasional working from the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, Little France, Edinburgh.

All staff have access to an employer pension scheme and are entitled to 30 days’ holiday pro-rata (including public holidays), the option of flexible working hours and a system of Toil and mileage allowance.
