Digital Development Officer: Young People Leading Digital Change 3-year funded project.

Crew is an award-winning national charity, based in Edinburgh, at the forefront of tackling new and emerging trends in substance use. Crew seeks to reduce harm from drug use and improve public health without judgement with people who take drugs and drug services, working with a wide range of local, national, and international partners.

We’re looking for a youth worker with strong digital communications skills to develop our new online service offering low-threshold drug and sexual health information, advice and support, working collaboratively with young people, the Drop-in and wider Crew teams. You’ll facilitate opportunities for peer education for young people aged 12-25, working with Crew’s volunteer peer educators, as well as responding to enquiries from the public.

As a Peer Navigator with lived experience of your own substance misuse, you will have the opportunity to build and develop skills and knowledge of working in the substance misuse field. While championing recovery you will use your own skills to help people accessing our service get to where they want to be.

West Lothian Assertive Outreach Service is expanding at the moment to build more responsive service for people who use drugs and/or alcohol and have a multiple and complex needs. We would like to involve people with lived experience in providing outreach services and modelling recovery for others. The post holder’s responsibility will be to outreach and engage people who have a history of poor engagement with services in West Lothian.

With this role you’ll be working as part of The Recovery Service Team based in Bathgate.

The team supports people with their or their loved ones’ drug and/or alcohol issues.

You’ll have to record information about what you do, so enjoying a bit of paperwork and attention to detail is important. But most of the time you’ll be enjoying working with people from all backgrounds, making a difference to their lives.

The post holder’s responsibility will be to create a more streamlined pathway for people who use drug and alcohol services in West Lothian. The post is fixed term and is funded for 12 months.
