Role

MELD is looking for a number of highly motivated individuals to join our expanding recovery service.

We are recruiting people who are committed to providing services for individuals with substance misuse issues, who can work effectively as part of a dynamic team and in partnership with statutory services.

The role of the Peer Support Worker is to provide and promote peer support and recovery services to people recovering from the problematic use of alcohol and drugs. This will be achieved by supporting people in the different phases of their recovery from initial engagement with services and the recovery community through to options for education, training, volunteering and employment.

Open access sessions to discuss any aspect of the Peer Support Worker roles will be held between 12.00 and 2pm at:

  • Starfish Recovery Café, Our Lady of Loretto Community Hall, 17 Newbigging, Musselburgh EH21 7AJ on Wednesday 9th February 2022
  • Horizons Café, Dalkeith Baptist Church, 8 N Wynd, Dalkeith EH22 1JE on Friday 11th February 2022
  • No appointment necessary, please just drop in.
