Due to expansion of the organisation, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Trusts and Philanthropy Manager to support our work across England, Scotland and Wales.

This role will support our volunteers and communities to achieve funding from Trusts, Foundations and Major Donors across England, Scotland and Wales to transform their places. This role will manage our strategic relationships with gatekeeper trusts and major donors to maximise our impact and reach and play a key leadership role in the UK Business Development Team, building a systemic and proactive approach to relationships and business development for the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and ambitious directorate team which oversees core functions within the organisation such as communications, impact and I.T.

The post-holder may also contribute to the wider work of Volunteering Matters, such as working groups around Safeguarding, Equality Diversity and Inclusion and others.

Key Duties

• Develop and grow our Gatekeeper Trust and Foundation relationships for Volunteering Matters and family of brands.

• Develop and grow our Gatekeeper Trust and Foundation relationships for Volunteering Matters and family of brands.

• Develop and grow our Major Donor portfolio for Volunteering Matters and family of brands and manage existing Major Donor relationships.

• Develop major Trust and Foundation proposals and bids to key partners and stakeholders across England, Scotland and Wales.

• Play a key role in the Partnerships UK leadership team, helping to build a place based and systematic relationship approach to income generation across the organization.

Skills & Experience Required

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with a range of stakeholders through a variety of means.

• Strong ability to influence both internally & externally within the sector and across our partnerships.

• Line management and development skills

• Knowledge and experience of transformational and legislative programmes of change in England, Scotland and Wales.

• Experience of managing Major Donors and relationships with Gatekeeper Trusts.

• Experience in using the power of storytelling to evidence impact and influence stakeholders.

Location: The post can be home based or office based. The postholder will require good internet access to enable remote working, and a suitable home office space. I.T. equipment and infrastructure will be supplied.

As appropriate: Post Covid-19 there will be an expectation to travel across the UK to work closely with Delivery Teams and Volunteers.

This role requires enhanced DBS/PVG clearance.
