Role

Cerebral Palsy Scotland is a charity that improves the lives of children and adults with cerebral palsy through specialist therapy, support and information.

We’re ambitious for people with cerebral palsy. For over 25 years our therapists have worked alongside people/those with cerebral palsy, their families and carers, helping them develop practical skills which transform daily life.

Founded by a group of determined parents whose children were unable to get the specialised therapy they needed close to home, we’re the only cerebral palsy charity in Scotland. As we’ve grown, the cerebral palsy community has continued to be at the heart of everything we do.

We bring people with cerebral palsy and their families together. Our support service offers a listening ear and advice. We share our knowledge and skills through shared working, courses and conferences. We raise awareness and we campaign for life-long access to knowledgeable, compassionate services and support.

Every day in Scotland, people with cerebral palsy are not getting enough support. We need donations to power our work, so that every person with cerebral palsy can reach their full potential.

We’re entering an exciting time with plans to increase our reach following a rebrand in 2020 and having formed a new Senior Management Team, including recruiting a new Head of Fundraising and Communications. To complement this we are recruiting a Fundraising Trainee who will be part of our future growth and will thrive on being involved in a range of fundraising activities. As you will be helping support the charity to achieve future success, so we are committed to supporting you as you develop your fundraising career.

You will have the opportunity to join an ambitious organisation and work alongside a highly motivated team. We are a learning organisation and if appointed, we will fund and support you with gaining the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Certificate of Fundraising. The Certificate helps fundraisers become more confident and understand how to make a genuine difference.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Communications you will support the Fundraising and Communications team on a range of activities and projects to gain a breadth of experience of all fundraising, communication and marketing disciplines, and gain a rounded view of charitable fundraising and the role fundraising plays in charities.

This role will particularly suit an individual who is just starting out on their fundraising career or has been a volunteer in a fundraising department. It would also suit someone who enjoys building relationships, thinking on their feet, is proactive, organised and are motivated to try new things and contribute ideas.

You will be joining a successful and well-established charity as it embarks on this ambitious phase of growth and bring your skills to a truly fantastic cause and a fun, friendly and supportive team environment.

What we offer

· 25 days annual leave plus 10 bank holidays (pro rata)

· Employer pension contribution of up to 5%
