We are recruiting for full time staff who can work 30 hours a week, between the hours of 10-16:00, Monday to Friday, however both full time and part-time contracts are available. At this time, we won’t be able to consider applicants looking to work less than 2 days per week.

Upmo is a Living Wage Employer; the rate of pay for this role is £11.00 per hour.

As a Project Worker, you will be part of an enthusiastic and creative team who provide daily support to adults with learning disabilities and autism as they participate in workshops and activities within our site-based services, and café sites.

For this role, we are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with skills and expertise in art, IT, music, drama, dance, photography, gardening, and outdoor activities. Or, if you have any other skills, let us know!

This role includes supporting students in workshops of their choosing, working one to one with students, and facilitating workshops, and supporting people with personal care, as and when required.

While previous experience in care or support is highly advantageous, it is not required as we provide full training and ongoing support to our staff team. An interest in visual arts, performing arts, cooking, IT, gardening, or sports would be beneficial.

As Regional Health & Safety Lead you would be responsible for the effective and efficient management of all Health of Safety in Scotland. Ensuring that the services and staff in Scotland are supported to deliver an effective, efficient and safe service through the coordination and management of Autism Initiatives’ property and facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of health & safety, property/facilities management and managing projects, and will be confident liaising with staff and external contacts. The post holder will be expected to travel regularly to our services throughout Scotland to conduct inspections and property visits.

The successful candidate must be willing to apply for a Basic Disclosure through Disclosure Scotland. Autism Initiatives will cover the cost of the application.

Columcille offers creative activities in a community setting for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. Activities include gardening, cooking, pottery, crafts, printing, drama, music, dancing, and joinery. Our approach values the uniqueness and gifts of each person and supports people to develop their creative skills and do meaningful work and activities in a friendly and warm social environment. Columcille is founded on the ideas of social therapy which originate in the thinking of Rudolf Steiner.

The café at Columcille is used by individuals who attend the centre and staff and is the social heart of the building providing morning and afternoon tea breaks, and a cooked lunch each day. The post holder will share responsibility for running the café at Columcille, supporting a small group of adults with learning disabilities to prepare lunch and tea breaks. The post holder will work closely with the other workshop co-leader who works Thursday and Friday, in planning and coordinating the smooth running of the café including record keeping, food and equipment ordering, stock control. Maintaining a high standard of food hygiene and cleaning routines is an important part of the role.

We are looking for someone with experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities, knowledge and experience of meal preparation and menu planning, and an interest in working for an organisation working from the ideas of social therapy and social pedagogy.
