About the role
We are looking for a dynamic and committed individual to join our Betterlives team in Islington.
This exciting and rewarding role will provide you with significant scope for growth and innovation within a supportive and friendly multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical professionals.
The main purpose of this role is to provide excellent quality of care to service users accessing treatment cross the Borough. Responsibilities will include the following.
- Working as part of a dynamic team delivering an effective service covering Duty and Assessments
- You will be responsible for managing a caseload of primarily NON- Opiate clients, providing a good quality of interventions at varying stages of their recovery.
- Work as part of a creative team in developing and delivering a wide range of groups.
- The duties are varied, and no two days will be the same
- Duties may include supporting other areas of service delivery as well as helping to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support health and wellbeing such as; smoking cessation and local events

Person specification
We are seeking committed, organised and highly motivated candidates, with an in-depth knowledge and experience of the challenges affecting people with substance misuse and related health and wellbeing issues.

The successful candidate must be committed to the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
- Demonstratable experience of working in the substance misuse field and supporting diverse and vulnerable service users.
- Experience of delivering Psychosocial interventions and a range of Groups to promote behaviour change.
- The ability to adapt to change in an ever-developing environment.
- Understanding of clinical guidelines so as to support prescribing needs of service users.
- You will be able to make a positive impact on the lives of our Service users.
- Experience of Groupwork is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
- A commitment to quality and being the best we can.

About Aberlour Options Fife - Respite and Outreach
Options Fife Respite and Outreach provides a range of flexible support through outreach and overnight short breaks at weekends, evenings and school holidays to children and young people with complex learning disabilities and autism. We offer a high-quality child centred service providing positive and enabling experiences for the young people, supporting them through the challenges and complexities that enable them to work towards their individual outcomes and personal goals. We are looking to recruit two Young People’s Worker Nights, working four nights on (10 hours per night) every second week. You will play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people you work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on each young person's progress. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care. We support young people who have epilepsy, need personal care and need gastrostomy feeding. Aberlour, in conjunction with NHS, provides all staff with training.

It is desired but not essential that candidates hold a relevant qualification at an SCQF level 7 or above. We provide services in the areas of physical and learning disabilities, autism, young people and older people. Further services include supporting positive mental health and wellbeing, homelessness, and drug and alcohol recovery. We work in people’s homes, in the community, and in temporary and supported accommodation.
The Service
We have positions in three of our services in the following areas of Edinburgh - Leith, Tollcross and Bruntsfield. We support individuals who are homeless and most likely have experienced some level of trauma, exclusion, and stigma in their life.
The Job
As a service we provide emotional and practical support with a harm reduction ethos. You will offer support to individuals to develop and maintain independent living skills.
