Role

Kinning Park Complex is looking for a new Treasurer

Are you passionate about community ownership and developing membership, community led service and spaces? Are you interested in supporting the KPC in delivering its mission and vision? 2022 is an exciting year for the Kinning Park Complex as we reopen our warmer, more accessible and bigger building. We are also going through a period of restructuring within the team moving towards a model of shared responsibility and leadership. KPC is a membership organisation with 80% of our members living in the local area with postcodes of G41, G51 or G5. We would like our board membership to reflect this ratio and would be particularly interested to hear from people living or working in these postcode areas. For the role of Treasurer we welcome applicants from outside the local area. We are committed to equality of opportunity for all and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

The Role

We are a member based organisation therefore all prospective board members are required to stand for election at our AGM in February 2022. Some trustees may be co-opted in by the board to fill skills gaps outside this election period. The skills and experiences you feel you can bring to the role will help us build new sub-committees. We’ve recently received applicants to lead four of our five new subcommittees: People (including a new Secretary), Projects & Communities, Operations and Marketing & Communications. We are looking for someone who would enjoy taking on the role of Treasurer, leading our Finance subcommittee. The skills and interests you have may have been developed through working for a small or large organisation, through working for yourself, through volunteering or life experience. You don’t need to have prior experience on a board and we will provide a full induction and help you understand the role and responsibilities of being a Trustee. The KPC understands that individual personal circumstances will affect the level of engagement they are able to commit to as a board member. We therefore have three levels of commitment to select from which will determine the time and level of engagement expected.

Application notes

If you are interested in hearing more we are inviting expressions of interest and offer a number of ways these can be submitted.

We can also be contacted on any of the ways outlined below for an informal chat ahead of submitting your expression of interest.

Please let us know if you want anything to help you through the application process and we will try to help to the best of our ability.
