A value based organisation, our mission is to ensure that carers in Lanarkshire are identified, well informed, involved, supported and empowered.

We deliver information, advice and direct support services that enable unpaid carers to continue to care, whilst maintaining their own health and wellbeing. Thanks to Carers Trust ‘Making Carers Count’ programme we have been successful in funding a new 2 year LGBTQ+ Carer Project.

For this project we are recruiting a full time LGBTQ+ Carer Services Coordinator. The LGBTQ+ Coordinator will inform positive changes to practice, communication, and service offer. The specific area of work will be to support carers from the LGBTQ+ community, undertake LBGTQ+ research, engagement and collaboration effectively.

This project aims to ensure that carers from this under-represented group are identified and their barriers addressed so that they are engaged, informed, involved, supported and empowered to manage and sustain caring roles. This project management position will ensure LGBTQ+ carers are aware of their rights and are recognised and valued as equal partners in care.

Working closely with communities and partner organisations, the LGBTQ+ Carer Services Coordinator will inform and identify specific barriers and issues that affect carers from this underrepresented group. Lanarkshire Carers is an organisation where you will be supported, valued and well rewarded.
