Role

This a great opportunity to enhance your CV and develop your expertise working as part of the team at one of Scotland’s leading environmental organisations.

As Public Affairs Adviser you will providing support to the organisation on political strategy and working with WWF colleagues as we influence government policy to support the restoration of nature and tackle climate change. You will be at the forefront of our fight for your world in 2022, working with political stakeholders to influence urgent and ambitious action from government across a range of briefs.

You will get involved in developing proposals for political party conferences, project managing events, and supporting the development and delivery of our parliamentary engagement strategy in 2022. You will also lead public affairs work across a range of environmental advocacy issues as well as develop plans to support our advocacy objectives. We will look to you to build personal relationships with members of parliament and political influencers too. The ability to provide day to day parliamentary monitoring and political expertise for colleagues as requested will also be required.

You will have a familiarity with Scottish politics, knowledge of parliamentary processes in Holyrood and the ability to demonstrate your experience of influencing political decisions. You will also have a proven track record of developing briefings, political monitoring, planning and delivering events as well as being comfortable coordinating external stakeholders and internal resources to deliver results. Effective at managing projects, you will possess strong communication, relationship building and coordinating skills too.

A track record of event organisation plus experience of attending and/ or delivering a programme of events at a Party conference would be an advantage.
