We have a new and exciting opportunity within Fife Carers Centre. We are seeking a Training and Development Manager to join our team.

The vision of Fife Carers Centre is to ensure that unpaid carers throughout Fife are valued, recognised, and supported to have equal access to a good quality of life that is not prejudiced by their caring role.

You will be based at The Fife Carer’s Centre, Kirkcaldy, with travel throughout Fife.

Your work will include providing person – centred information for carer’s and professionals as well as coordinating, promoting and delivering high quality training for carer’s, carer groups and professionals, over a variety of locations,

You’ll be developing and assisting the Carer’s Centre with effective outreach work, PR and promotion, media work and with initiatives to raise carer awareness with professionals and the public.

Job Purpose:To provide administrative, operational and financial support, to the core work of the organisation. To effectively manage the Admin Team to achieve this.

The purpose of this post is to identify, support and signpost unpaid carers in a ward setting at East Lothian Community Hospital in Haddington, ensuring carers are well placed to act as equal partners in care. In particular, the post holder will be expected to support carers to become more involved in planning for the future for people they care for, and to ensure the carers are aware how to access support once patients are discharged into the community. This post would work closely with ward staff and the multidisciplinary team to help ensure an effective, efficient and timely discharge of a patient with ongoing care needs to return to their place of home or place of rehabilitation with the necessary support in place, informed by the patient, their health care professionals, and their carer.

You will be based at The Fife Carer’s Centre, Kirkcaldy, with travel throughout Fife.

Your work will include providing a sensitive, person-centred support service for Adult carer’s throughout Fife. Assisting Carer’s to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing by providing carer’s with a comprehensive information and advocacy service to enable them to make informed choices and develop self-advocacy, and where necessary, advocate on the carers behalf.
