Role

Barnardo's is working in partnership with South Ayrshire ADP, Recovery Ayr and We are With You, to provide whole family support within a person-centred continuity of care-based model of long-term residential rehabilitation provision for residents of South Ayrshire, in line with the agreed strategic ambition of South Ayrshire Alcohol & Drug Partnership (ADP), and in line with the National Drugs Mission. We aim to deliver a service that is rooted in the Whole Family approach and underpinned by Rights Respect and Recovery, Getting Our Priorities Right and Getting it Right for Every child (GIRFEC).

We are seeking a Family Worker (PW2 grade) to join our service the successful candidate will be part of the innovative development and delivery of this exciting initiative and therefore is required to demonstrate a level of experience, skills, and knowledge as highlighted below to carry out key aspects of the role.

The Service Aims to;

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary and collocated team in South Ayrshire that includes a range of staff, peers and volunteers from third sector and statutory services.
  • Provide holistic support to family members and loved ones for individuals wishing to access long term residential rehabilitation.
  • Work collaboratively with families to promote recovery and develop and nurture strengths to ensure both children and adults can overcome any difficulties that get in the way.
  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of statutory and third sector partners across the ADP, as well as with internal and external stakeholders, to achieve effective, safe and innovative service provision.

Essentially the successful applicant should be motivated, driven and have the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.

Experience of supporting Children, Young People and Families and relationship-based practice to work alongside those affected by multiple adversities is essential.

The successful candidate will require working with a high degree of flexibility to meet the needs of the service and as such the post holder may be required to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of Families, for individuals preparing to access residential rehabilitation, and when returning to the community..

Essentially you will have;

  • Relevant qualification such as: SVQ, HNC or equivalent
  • Experience of interagency work.
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle is an essential requirement for this post
