Treasurer (voluntary role)

  • Management Board
  • Unpaid
  • Edinburgh
  • Closing 13th January 2022

  • Advertised from 3rd December 2021

Role

Peace & Justice (Scotland) works to build a culture of peace through creative events, teaching peacebuilding and conflict resolution in schools and working with others to campaign to end the culture of militarism in our society. We are a small team of three part-time staff as well as volunteers and currently five Trustees.

We need a Treasurer with basic accounting skills and an understanding of finance practice relevant in voluntary organisations, to support our work. An understanding of Quickbooks online (the financial accounting system we use) would be helpful – but training can be given.

Minimum commitment would be about 1 hour per week, and includes attending bi-monthly trustee meetings which are currently held online via zoom. The work will include:

  • Oversight of accounts and financial risk management
  • Supporting the Coordinator in preparation of programme and organisational budgets as needed
  • Supporting the work of the finance officer
  • Financial Reporting to our AGM annually
