We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team. The Wellness Coordinator will design and deliver a range of workshops, training events and exercise classes to hub users. Some examples of our charities current activity includes Yoga, Tai Chi, Mindfulness and stress management but the successful candidate may have other skills, qualifications or experiences in other wellbeing activity that they could offer users. The successful candidate should be confident in working with a range of individuals and groups including people with learning disabilities, children and young people, people with mobility problems and people experiencing mental health illness. The successful candidate will support individuals to overcome barriers to their involvement in all of our services and will support a team of staff in the design, re-design and delivery of services.

The Health and Wellness Hub are a registered charity established in 2012 to provide a community-based health and wellness service in areas of North Lanarkshire that are in the top 10-15% data zones for multiple deprivation (SIMD 2020) The Charity has a particular focus on helping people who are marginalised and disadvantaged by reason of age, ill-health, disability and financial hardship. Alongside individuals accessing community based services, they can also participate in the “Transforming Lives” volunteer programme, aimed at individuals who have a number of support needs and are marginalised and disadvantaged in some way.

The Charity is an accredited Living Wage Provider and currently employs 15 staff. The charity identifies as a Supported business (employs a percentage of people with barriers and are furthest removed from the labour market) Since 2015, there have been 19 volunteers who have been employed by the charity. 9 are currently still employed with the charity (60% of its workforce) and were participants on the “Transforming Lives” volunteer programme.

We hope the post holder will bring a range of knowledge, skills and experiences that will further enhance the existing services we deliver while supporting a small staff team in the delivery of work within our communities.
