Who we are

Keep Scotland Beautiful is your charity for Scotland’s environment.

Our vision is for a clean, green, sustainable Scotland. We work with you to help combat climate change, reduce litter and waste, and protect and enhance the places we care for. We aim to change behaviour to improve our environment, the quality of people’s lives, their wellbeing, and the places that they care for.

We support the ambitions of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

What the role is

We have an ambition to create a carbon literate Scotland and help in the just transition to a Net Zero Nation. Within this post you will provide professional training services to clients across sectors on a range of subjects, in particular climate change through our pioneering programme of Climate Emergency Training. You will also provide accreditation and audit services across sectors, particularly our National Award for Environmental Excellence ® and Green Key which help and support organisations to minimise their impact on the environment so that they play their part in tackling the climate emergency.

What you’ll need to have

We are looking for someone with the knowledge and experience to help people and organisations across Scotland understand more about the climate emergency and help them take action to combat climate change and other environmental problems. You will have experience and a flair for organising, preparing and delivering training to a range of sectors and audiences on environment and climate change subjects. In addition, we are looking for a good knowledge of Scottish environment, climate change, circular economy, litter and waste policies and programmes and strong training and learning facilitation skills along with experience of presenting complex information clearly to a range of audiences.

An understanding of ISO14001 and ISO14064 would be desirable as is previous experience of carbon footprinting and environmental auditing, albeit not essential.
