Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Scotland are the only charity in Scotland with a remit to provide support to those affected by these complex disabilities. This is an exciting time to join the Support Team at Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland as we are developing and expanding services in response to the demand from those affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus.

SBH Scotland is looking for a Part Time Early Years Support Worker to provide proactive support and focused intervention to children and families in the early years to empower and support them to be all they can be.

Reporting to the Support Leads in the West, this varied role offers the opportunity to support individuals in a variety of ways including: Facilitating and encouraging play, learning and social development of all children (0-8 years) within the service; enabling parents/carers to take an active role in their child’s development and learning; organising groups and activities; promoting learning through play; 1-2-1 support; contributing to our Helpline support and sourcing resources or information.

Educated to SVQ3/4 level or equivalent level of relevant knowledge/experience, the post will be ideally suited to a person with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop constructive working relationships with a wide range of service users, carers and partner agencies.

The ideal candidate will also be proactive, resourceful and willing to contribute to the team in the interests of overall service aims.

Own car and a full driving licence is essential.

Excellent employment package including: Flexible working hours, contributory pension scheme, paid expenses, death in service benefit, 30 days annual leave plus 4 statutory days (Pro rata for Part Time - additional days added after 3 years service.)

Based at the SBH Scotland Dan Young Building in Cumbernauld but hybrid home working welcomed. Travel across West of Scotland will be required to meet the needs of our service users.
