Role

Glasgow East Women’s Aid is a small charity delivering a range of high-quality services to prevent and respond to domestic abuse against women and children living within the North East of Glasgow. The role of the Women’s CYP Crisis Drop in Worker is to support women who are experiencing domestic abuse. GEWA is seeking an individual with a working knowledge of domestic abuse to support this vulnerable group of service users.

  1. To provide a holistic, needs-led support service to women experiencing, or who have experienced, domestic abuse, including resolving issues of emotional trauma, stress and loss.
  2. Design and implement safety planning with women.
  3. Supporting Women in Crisis, finding refuge space for women and children.
  4. Settling women and visitors in counselling rooms, meeting room as required, drinks if required, making rooms ready for next drop in.
  5. To update and maintain computer records – (OASIS, Refuges on Line, E-mails and Referrals) ensuring all systems and paperwork are up to date at all times.
  6. Taking and replying to messages including from emails/answer machine, recording them in OASIS and passing messages to relevant person(s).
  7. Updating answer machine with relevant information for PH’s.
  8. Update Refuges on Line by 10.30am
  9. Operating door entry system
  10. Service users & visitors to be temperature checked, ensure “check-in”, signed in and out for fire regulations
  11. Calling agencies on behalf of women, writing letters of support for women to agencies eg, housing,
  12. To adhere to all GEWA policies and procedures, including Safeguarding
  13. Achieve all contractual targets and outcomes
  14. To keep up to date with relevant legislation and attend training as and when required
  15. Collate statistics and produce reports as required for potential future funding
  16. To co-ordinate the development of web-based information, and update social media daily eg. Facebook, Instagram & Twitter
  17. To be responsible for the development and maintenance/updating of accessible administration, information and online filing systems for service users,
  18. To be responsible for the creating and maintaining of all leaflets in packs for front desk, and ensuring these are accessible for all.
  19. Any other duties as reasonably required by the funder and/or GEWA

Please note that this post is currently funded up to 31st October 2022, with the view that funding is available for a further 2 years

An up to date PVG will be required for this role. GEWA seeks individuals who are ideally qualified to a minimum of SVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care, or equivalent. Other qualifications may be considered.

You may on occasion be required to work evenings and weekends. This role is subject to a 3-month probationary period.
