An exciting opportunity for you to take a leading role in the Sustrans Scotland Communications team. As the Senior Communications Officer, you'll promote Sustrans Scotland’s flagship walking and cycling infrastructure delivery projects. These projects are making it easier for people to walk and cycle.
This is a rewarding job in which you will work closely with internal and external partners, communicating via social media and directly with media organisations across Scotland, as well as other relevant agencies.
You will be the communications lead for the Infrastructure Development team, managing the day to day delivery of the practical aspects e.g. press releases and project promotion. You will also shape the communications strategy for the department to the general public, media and policy makers.
This role may require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. Candidates should be based within commutable distance to Sustrans Edinburgh office with hybrid home working available.
About you
You will have extensive experience working in a communications environment, with the ability to write and / or edit engaging content for publications, press releases and websites.
Your communication skills, both oral and written, should be exemplary; allowing you to interact across all levels and build relationships with ease.
You should be skilled in the use of Social Media in a professional context, with a good understanding of the business communications environment, including media, digital and marketing.
