Are you a human rights defender? Do you want to help tackle poverty in Scotland? The Poverty Alliance has a new role that will help ensure that people and communities can take action to use human rights to tackle poverty. Come join our new Rights in Action team!
A vacancy has arisen for an experienced researcher to join the Poverty Alliance. The role will be part of the team delivering our new ‘Rights in Action’ project. The Research Officer will contribute to a programme of social research with people with direct experience of poverty and community and voluntary organisations across Scotland using a range of qualitative research methodologies, in particular participatory action research. This research will focus on the understanding and implementation of rights-based approaches to addressing poverty. In addition, the Research Officer will also support the delivery of Action Learning Sets with community organizations and people with experience of poverty.
The right person for this role will have experience of qualitative and participatory research, knowledge of human rights and a commitment to tackling poverty. You’ll be committed to participation and co-production and will have excellent communication and facilitation skills.
