Role
Glasgow Zine Library, SCIO are seeking a fundraising and sponsorship expert to join our team to help us reach financial goals and secure a more stable and diverse stream of funding. We are looking for someone with a creative approach to income generation with extensive experience who is an excellent communicator.
As our new Fundraiser, you will work closely with our team to strategise and write applications for private, public, and potentially corporate funds. Because of the part-time nature of the position, you will delegate tasks to our team so that we can adequately support you in applications. You will report to our Board of Trustees at our quarterly meetings on progress made and income generated.
Glasgow Zine Library is a self-publishing library and community arts space located in Govanhill on the south side of Glasgow. We aim to advance the arts, heritage and cultural sector through promoting self-publication as a means for artistic, community and personal expression. We have a growing archive of self-published works, with around 1000 zines currently in the collection. We run a year-round programme of educational events and our annual festival, Glasgow Zine Fest.
The coming year marks an exciting period of growth and consolidation for the organisation. Our events programme will be shaped around three themes: The Stories We Tell, Between Creativity and Wellness, and Opening the Gate: Making Theory Accessible, offering our audiences an opportunity to develop and nurture themselves and their creative practice. We will begin to offer intermediate and advanced learning opportunities in addition to our existing beginners offer. We will be expanding our Young Producers Programme for 14-18 year olds and creating a follow-on Emerging Programmers initiative for adults. We will be focusing on building stronger community partnerships and developing a more financially sustainable model. As we begin to reopen the library, following Covid-19 closures, we will be broadening its use, doing more to bring the collection to life and make zine-making and self-publishing more accessible.

PATH (Scotland) is a small, dynamic award-winning national charity established in 1998 to address the absence of BAME communities in housing and employment using the positive action provisions of equalities legislation. We also run employability, mentoring and leadership programmes across Scotland.
Due to a restructure, we are now looking for a Funding Officer. This is a new post and is an opportunity for a positive, motivated individual to join our small team and help ensure the sustainability of our activities and services.
The Funding Officer will source new streams of funding and sponsorship and work with the Manager and other staff to develop, fund and implement services.
Major Tasks
To be a subject expert on benefits and welfare related areas.
Prepare and brief colleagues and departments as required.
Main Job Activities
1. To be a subject expert:
Understanding the rules, laws and regulations within the relevant subject area.
Review and highlight key information to colleagues from relevant literature, journals, and reports.
Identify areas of improvement for the organisation’s advice service, working with colleagues to implement strategic development plans.
Support relevant marketing and media activities.
2. To influence the operational processes associated with the relevant subject area:
Identifying and implementing key improvements across both advisor and customer journeys.
Strong depth of understanding related to enquiry patterns and trends.
Planning and horizon scanning to provide the most up-to-date information for our advisors.
3. Identify and develop collaborative partnerships with stakeholders within the subject area:
Partnership working with organisations we are currently engaged with, in addition to establishing possible new partnership opportunities with those we are not.
Monitoring, understanding, and responding to external consultations and changes within the relevant subject area.
4. Prepare and brief both senior colleagues and external stakeholders as required:
Regular development of reports and written briefings.
Inform and collaborate with our internal training department to influence training content.
Support advisory staff when required, providing subject specific guidance.
5. To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by Line Manager.

- A qualification in a pertinent social care subject (at least SVQ Level 9).
- Possession of, a relevant training qualification or equivalent at SCQF level 7 (SVQ 3).
- Previous experience in the care or charity sector (preferably 2 years or more).
- Proficiency in scoping, developing, and delivering training materials to a diverse audience.
- Knowledge of the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Framework.
- Familiarity with the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC).
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on finding practical solutions.
