About Eczema Outreach Support

Eczema Outreach Support (EOS) is a UK-wide charity supporting children and young people with eczema and their families. Originally set up in Scotland in 2011, we now have over 4,000 member families living across the UK.

At EOS, we want every child with eczema to thrive. We believe that having eczema should not – and will not - stop children's ambitions and dreams. By providing direct practical advice and emotional support to whole families, we empower young people to take back control of their health and break isolation. Our goal is for every child with eczema to know they are not alone.

We deliver a range of activities including one-to-one support via phone & email, we deliver face-to-face events and online activities, such as our virtual High Five Club for kids aged 3-10 and tailored support for teenagers. We also work directly with schools, as well as creating and sharing informative social media content on eczema. We also support families on a wider scale by inputting into eczema research, taking part in clinical networks and raising awareness of the impact of the condition on families’ lives. Our work is always guided by the needs of our members.

About the Role

Our Business Support Officer will provide vital support across a range of areas including finance, administration and IT so EOS can deliver high quality support to families. You would be the main office contact for EOS which would include periods of lone working. This is a diverse and interesting opportunity to bring your organisational and problem-solving skills and play a key role in our small and passionate team.

About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide inspirational regional team leadership for designated Regional and Area Associations and local volunteers. In this role, you will drive the delivery of outstanding member benefits, sports, and leisure events at a local level using member insight gathered from local members.

Responsibilities:

At CSSC, we must ensure that our offer, both locally and nationally, provides our members with a great experience and enables them to do the things they love. To help us achieve this, you will:

• Support volunteers in delivering a regional and local programme aligned with CSSC's strategy, mission, vision, and values.

• Use the local member insight to deliver what our members are looking for, as well as introduce them to new opportunities and activities.

• Ensure adherence to operating processes, framework, and legislation.

• Enhance volunteer skills and experiences, celebrate volunteering, and attract new volunteers to CSSC.

• Collaborate with the Regional Chair and volunteers to monitor progress, attend local meetings, and evaluate the delivery of activities and events.

• Foster effective networking and collaboration across the team, champion best practice and seek out new ideas and ways of doing things.

• Attract, recruit, and induct new volunteers to ensure confidence and excellent service provision for our members.

• Ensure key volunteering roles have potential successors, retaining and developing the services and commitment of volunteers with CSSC.

• A relevant degree or professional qualification in volunteer management (not essential but advantageous).

• Experience with building and working with high-performing teams.

• Working knowledge of CRM and digital Event Management Systems.

We have an exciting opening in our Fundraising team for a Community and Events Fundraiser.

You will be responsible for coordinating events and community activities and maximising the income generated from those events as well as by those organised by supporters, volunteers and organisations.

You will support the fundraising team to inspire, develop and co-ordinate increased involvement from supporters, managing new and existing relationships with volunteers, donors, organisations and partners.

Responsible for but not limited to:

• Lead our flagship events with a proactive approach to ensure their success.
• Developing a community and events fundraising plan that will achieve agreed income targets in line with the overall fundraising strategy, review and update this on an ongoing basis.
• Play a leading role in growing event fundraising through externally organised challenge events, established Leuchie organised events and to develop proposals for new events which have the potential to grow and develop.
• Lead and cultivate in growing community fundraising activity and income through supporter-led fundraising, local groups and organisations.
• Leading on the design and distribution of events promotional communications, media and materials, and collaborate with colleagues to co-ordinate these within the parameters of overall Leuchie communication plans.

About you:

Qualifications

• Educated to SCQF level 6 in English and Mathematics, or through equivalent work experience.
• Driving licence or the ability to travel independently to fundraising events.

Knowledge and Experience

• Proven experience of generating income through community and event planning including organisation and delivery.
• Experience of successfully recruiting participants, supporters, and/or volunteers for events and fundraising activities.
• Experience of growing external financial support through excellent stewardship.
• Knowledge of the community, including externally organised events which have the potential to generate income, and local organisations and companies which offer potential funding sources.

Skills

• Ability to use Microsoft Office and fundraising databases.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking.
• Ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
• Ability and experience in developing and implementing promotional plans.

The Nations Support Officer will support the nation-based team, providing seamless and effective business support to running operations within the nation.

This role will include responsibility for the general management of a nation office, delivering effective and compliant services including day-to-day security, maintenance and health and safety provision within the site.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Experience of successfully managing ad hoc tasks and small-scale projects in an administrative or similar role, demonstrating knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety, Safeguarding, General Data Protection Regulations; knowing when to escalate issues.
• Experience of working as part of a team, as well as with minimal supervision and using own initiative whilst demonstrating excellent customer service with the ability to remain calm, diplomatic and composed.
• Experience of working in a support role with responsibility for meeting regulatory requirements and providing administrative support to home-based staff or geographically dispersed colleagues and volunteers.

Skills

• Experience of Microsoft Office, including a working knowledge of 365 applications, including Outlook and Excel, and ideally a working knowledge of the following: SharePoint, One Note and Teams.
• General property management experience including environmental management.
• Can demonstrate effective supplier relationships and a customer care approach.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with attention to detail. A proactive approach and the ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
• Confident to lead relationships and outputs from senior stakeholders, including landlords and able to apply critical thinking in response to issues arising.
• Health and Safety knowledge to conduct fire evacuation training, mandatory checks/implementations, employee on site inductions and conducting event risk assessments.
• An enthusiastic and flexible approach, able to work closely and adaptively with the immediate team and collaboratively across the wider organisation.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Voluntary sector in the Nations and the environment we operate in.
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practice. Strong empathy for the needs of volunteers, people with arthritis and staff.
• Able to record and maintain accurate and up to date personal and numerical
• Data with knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
