About Us

Zero Tolerance is a Scottish charity working to end men’s violence against women by promoting gender equality and by challenging attitudes which normalise violence and abuse.

Zero Tolerance has a commitment to diversity and challenging all forms of inequality alongside gender inequality. We would be particularly keen to encourage applicants from Black Minority and Ethnic, LGBT, disabled, migrant and other backgrounds currently underrepresented within the women’s sector.

What You’ll Do

We are expanding our team to include the newly created position of Research and Engagement Support Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to contribute to ZT’s primary prevention work, identifying best practice in participatory methods to support our work priorities and ensuring what we do reflects the lived experience of diverse groups of women and girls. The successful candidate will work closely with ZT colleagues to support all aspects of research and engagement, connecting with a wide range of stakeholders to identify new audience groups, disseminate research findings and developing innovative engagement methods. This is a new and developing role; flexibility, feedback and evaluation will be crucial to its success as is a willingness to adapt to the needs of a small charity.

What We Need

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of a variety of research methods including participatory research. You’ll have the ability to work flexibly and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines; a creative approach and excellent problem-solving skills are also essential, as is experience of supporting campaigns and organising events.

You will also have:

· Understanding of VAWG and gender inequality

· Experience of supporting the development, implementation and analysis of research

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your approach to suit audience need

· A confident approach to own learning and continuous improvement of work

What We Offer

As well as a competitive salary, we offer an excellent pension scheme (6% employers’ contribution) and 28 days annual leave plus 10 public holidays. We have a flexible working hours policy, and actively encourage continuous professional development for all our employees. We also offer annual pay progression, and operate a grading structure based on five salary grades. New employees start on point 1 of each salary grade and receive annual increments until the top of the grade is reached. This role is Grade 2 £26,138 - £28,851.

*Location: Our office is in Edinburgh. We are currently all working from home. We will review working from home in January 2022 to determine future working arrangements for the organisation.
