About Us

Zero Tolerance is a Scottish charity working to end men’s violence against women by promoting gender equality and by challenging attitudes which normalise violence and abuse.

What You’ll Do

We are looking for an experienced Policy and Research Officer to join our team and lead on our work to influence key decision makers and stakeholders across local authorities, Scottish and UK governments and third sector organisations. You will support the organisation’s aims by building and developing effective networks and relationships, whilst monitoring and analysing developing national and local public policy. In addition, you will maintain our organisational evaluation framework and the development and management of ZT’s evidence base, to ensure all of our activities are robustly underpinned.

What We Need

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role with strong knowledge and understanding of violence against women and gender equality. You’ll be a skilled communicator with the ability to present complex ideas to a variety of audiences: as an effective negotiator, you will have the ability to influence at the highest levels with a diversity of stakeholders and partners.

You will also have:

· Clear concise written skills with the ability to turn research evidence into clear findings that inform decisions

· Excellent understanding of the Scottish political landscape

· Demonstrable project management skills, managing both reactive and planned work

· Proven experience of building networks

What We Offer

As well as a competitive salary, we offer an excellent pension scheme (6% employers’ contribution) and 28 days annual leave plus 10 public holidays. We have a flexible working hours policy, and actively encourage continuous professional development for all our employees. We also offer annual pay progression, and operate a grading structure based on five salary grades. New employees start on point 1 of each salary grade and receive annual increments until the top of the grade is reached. This role is Grade 3 £29,797 – £32,891.

*Location: Our office is in Edinburgh. We are currently all working from home. We will review working from home in January 2022 to determine future working arrangements for the organisation.
