Role
The British Dietetic Association is the only professional association and trade union for dietitians working in the UK. It is an award winning and growing membership association with a national and international role in food and nutrition.
The BDA’s independent Selection Committee oversees the recruitment, selection and appointment of Board Directors and other strategic member roles. It is vital that non-dietitian input into the Selection Committee assures the profession that robust recruitment and selection procedures are followed and that non-member oversight is provided.
With two of its independent members standing down we are looking to appoint two new members. Appointees will be for a period of 3 years in the first instance and remunerated on a daily fee basis.
You will:
- Have experience of senior/Board level recruitment and selection
- Understand the benefit of independent members in the recruitment and selection process
- Be prepared to Chair the Selection Committee and selection panels
- Be available for selection panels on a face to face basis or virtually (depending on the recruitment process agreed)
You may:
- Have experience of professional or membership bodies
- Have experience of working with health professions
The BDA particularly welcomes applications from under-represented groups such as black and ethnic minority, LGBTQI+ communities and people with disabilities.

RCGP Scottish Patient Forum
The Royal College of General Practitioners Scotland is recruiting new members to the RCGP Scottish Patient Forum.
As a member of our Patient Forum, you will help to ensure that the patient voice is woven through the work of RCGP Scotland.
From feeding into policy consultation responses, to assisting with the development of campaigns and College communications; members of the RCGP Scottish Patient Forum will play a key role in helping to shape the work of the College in Scotland.
The Patient Forum operates as a virtual advisory group via Microsoft Teams. There will be up to 3 virtual meetings per year plus an online forum to communicate and to progress work outside of meetings. Members of the Patient Forum will be provided with advanced notice of these meetings.
This is a voluntary role for a term of up to three years.

The treasurer will be responsible for overseeing financial matters on behalf of our Board and will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation has robust financial processes to ensure it meets its legal and constitutional requirements. While we encourage and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, we are keen to hear from candidates that have experience of charity financial management or are chartered in a suitable accountancy field.
This role would include four board meetings a year (currently a mix of in person and online), along with four online Office Bearer meetings each year, and our AGM.
