Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis provides support and advocacy services to women and girls from age 13 years who are survivors of any form of sexual violence, abuse or sexual exploitation, no matter when this has happened in their lives. We are part of a national network of rape crisis centres and connect with a range of partnerships locally and nationally to both deliver services, and to influence policy and practice in this area. Our funding comes from a range of central and local government funds as well as to a lesser extent some trusts and grants.
We have a gendered definition of all forms of violence against women and girls and this is reflected in our work and in all our policies and protocols. The charity delivers a range of discrete services including prevention and education work. We have specific programmes for BAME women, and also provide support for women as they engage in the criminal justice system.

We are looking for Workers that can fully demonstrate our values, and our fundamental belief that violence against women and girls has at its root, the unjust imbalance of power between men and women, and that this reflects deep rooted and structural inequality in our society.

About this role
This is a key role in Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis Centre’s Core service that provides specific support services to girls and women. The role requires a strong commitment to anti-discriminatory and equalities work and must demonstrate experience of working directly with girls and women. The post holder will be comfortable and confident in representing the service externally across agencies. Experience and understanding of working within an organisation that operates within a feminist, equalities and human rights framework is preferable for this role. Joining an already established team, this role will work to the Team Leader for the Project, whilst also being accountable for maintaining and applying the values, principles and competences for the role to the Director of the Centre. This role is possible due to funding received from Delivering Equally Safe.
