We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who shares our values (Kind, Passionate and Creative) to join our service accommodating and supporting people experiencing homelessness and empowering them to thrive.
The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team to provide care and support to 8 service users in a residential service, specifically commissioned to work with Care Experienced young people. You will be expected to provide support to each individual in keeping with the SHANARRI principles and to contribute to all aspects of support planning and review via Better Futures outcome tool and ensure the safety and security of the building at all times and to undertake tasks relating to health and safety including wellbeing checks and general maintenance and cleaning tasks.
The post will involve two to four shifts per week, over a four-week rolling rota.
Typical shift patterns are 07:00-14:00; 13:00–21:00; 13:30-20:30; 14:00-21:00 or 16:15-23:15.
Periods of lone working are involved in certain shifts.
An SVQ3 qualification in social care would be advantageous however not necessary. Other essentials include: experience of working with vulnerable people, addiction issues and challenging behaviour; effective written and verbal communication; knowledge of homelessness issues; and, above all, the determination to make a difference in the lives of our service users.
If successful, you will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of your start date. After registration, there is a requirement to be qualified and to maintain professional learning.
