CHAP are looking for a person who wants to really make a difference.

CHAP, a charitable organisation based in the West Coast of Scotland, are looking for a Keyworker to join our successful team who, in 2020, secured in excess of one million pounds worth of financial gains for our clients. But we want to do better! Therefore, we are looking to add an Outreach Worker to the team to help us build more effective links with schools to enable us to support vulnerable families to become more financially resilient.

CHAP provides independent advice and information on housing, welfare rights and debt issues, free of any charge, to people in crisis across Ayrshire. We exist to provide hope and to stand alongside our clients as they grapple with some of life’s most difficult challenges. We give those who need our help a voice.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of the ‘Better Off North Ayrshire’ programme which is being led by North Ayrshire Council. This two-year pilot (running to March 2023) is being delivered through a Public Social Partnership co-production model and aims to deliver advice services through a ‘whole-person’ approach. The Outreach Worker will be a pivotal role, co-ordinating a new Better Off Early Intervention in Schools (financial resilience and wellbeing) initiative. Candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to build positive relationships with schools and parents, deliver presentations and coordinate and facilitate a rolling programme of awareness raising events within local schools and early years centres. The successful candidate will be a confident and self-motivated communicator who is able to work with a wide range of stakeholders and champion the approach of the Better Off model. Some knowledge of debt and welfare rights issues would be an advantage.

A driving licence and access to your own transport is essential.
