Role

Are you a kind and VERY patient individual? Are you our missing jigsaw piece? Could you be the person to help keep me safe at Nights?

At Options Fife in Dunfermline we support a young man, 18 years old, who has very complex needs. In July this year we changed not only our service but our constitution by making this unit his ‘forever home’. Over the years the support we provided our service became a safe place for not only him but for his family as well. Although there can be challenging behaviour, it is the small steps of progress that this young person makes on a daily basis that makes our work meaningful.

At Aberlour we feel every child has the right to flourish. You will play a fundamental role in ensuring that this young man has the best possible experience whilst working towards his goals in his care plan. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role. Using a person centred approach you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care to support him in his daily living and within the local community.

We are looking to recruit Young People’s Workers Nights, working 35 hours per week. You will work as part of a residential rota which will usually be working in partnership with another Young People’s Worker Nights and will take the pattern of 3 nights on and 3 nights off.

If you would like an informal chat about this post, please contact Karen Fotheringham, Assistant Service Manager on 01383 721758.

Why should I apply for this post?

Young People’s Worker you will receive a planned and supported induction programme consisting of an extensive training programme; including CALM Training, Child Protection Training and Fire Safety Training. You will be working alongside a highly motivated and skilled team to provide a personalised service for our young people.

As an Aberlour employee, you will receive:

· competitive hourly rates with an additional 9% for working unsociable hours,

· excellent annual leave entitlement

· access to our group pension scheme

· access to the Aberlour Rewards retail discount scheme
