We are looking for an enthusiastic Café Manager to join us here at Change Mental Health. This is an exciting new role that will play a key part in launching and establishing our first non-profit café in Edinburgh city centre.
The Café Manager is a pivotal role sitting within our Fundraising and Business development team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, kind, outgoing and authentic hospitality professional to bring our new non-profit venture to life in the heart of the city.
The post holder will have the unique opportunity to create an uplifting, non-stigmatising café that will be known for great coffee, will raise awareness of Mental Health and Illness whilst creating a safe and supportive space where everyone is welcome.
Key Responsibilities:
- Successfully launch the Change Mental Health Non-Profit Café in Edinburgh in line with brand concept and values
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the café
- Enhance and achieve sales and guest review targets
- Quality control of food and drinks, ensuring that each item served to a customer is of the highest quality
- Ensure the business runs at net zero and where appropriate work with other social enterprise businesses within the community
- Bringing fresh ideas to the business through new menus ideas, deals, events
- Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety are always maintained
- Ensure all aspects of Security, Fire and emergency procedures are established and maintained.
- Ordering and stock management
- Line manage and develop your team to their full potential, manage rotas and lead on staff recruitment.
- Contribute to the sales and marketing strategy for the business including the day to day management of social media platforms.
- Collaborate with the Change Mental Health Teams and contribute to the growth of our non-profit Café concept.
- Manage the café’s financial reporting, working with national teams to manage the café P&L
- Flexibility and willingness to work weekends and occasional evenings
- Working 5 days out of 7 with the flexibility to adapt this as when required (for example during festival season in August).

General Duties
- Act in accordance with Data Protection legislation. Ensure all records, personal, staff and client data are managed in line with Data Management and Information Governance policies
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements such as provisions set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- As with all employees, workers and volunteers; to encourage people to join Change Mental Health as a member, donor or activist
- To act in accordance with the charity’s Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies and to notify your line manager promptly if there are any concerns
- To participate in regular supervision and appraisal and undertake any relevant training as appropriate to the role
- To work in accordance with the charity’s national policies and local operating procedures and those of external regulators or professional bodies

Tiny Changes is Scotland’s first national young people’s mental health charity. We run projects with young leaders that help young minds feel better. The charity was set up in memory of artist and Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison. Through his music and art Scott made tiny changes that had a big impact on people from all walks of life.

Role Summary
As a freelance operations consultant at Tiny Changes, you will support the interim CEO with the management of all charity and day to day operational activities, continuing the development of the charity in line with organisational objectives and strategic direction. Working closely with our small team, you will contribute to the overall direction of charity-wide operations. Supporting the management of co-production (youth lead projects), fundraising, human resources, health and safety and equality diversity and inclusion, to ensure our processes are up to date, compliant, meet the overall needs of the organisation and reflect our values.

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Trauma Support Team with Health in Mind. Health in Mind is a leader within Scotland offering support and counselling for survivors of childhood trauma. Our Trauma Support Services support survivors of abuse in a variety of ways to support people to live the life they want to live. Our approach is values based and works alongside people, drawing on their personal strengths.
We are seeking an experienced support and development worker to provide emotional and practical support to people who are adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, or as adults have experienced sexual assault, rape or domestic violence.
The successful applicant will work with people on an individual basis with both practical and emotional support, within our Short-Term Trauma Support Service. You will support people with the impact of their trauma, to improve their mental health and wellbeing, and to develop coping strategies.

We have an exciting opportunity to join Alzheimer Scotland as a Finance Manager – Voluntary Income.
Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, we campaign for the rights of people with dementia, support vital dementia research and promote positive brain health.
This is a finance manager role with a difference. This new role will have a particular focus on our voluntary income. Our voluntary income is varied encompassing areas such as legacies, trusts, sponsored events, gift aid, community fundraising and in memory fundraising. These income strands totalling over £8.5mn per annum support the organisation in providing our vital supports.
We are seeking applications from individuals with at least 4 years’ experience of working in a varied finance or fundraising finance role within a complex organisation and who possess the skills to take on the tasks outlined in the job description.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience of working in the voluntary sector and managing and supporting high value voluntary income streams.
The role will manage a small team of finance assistants and provide supervision and development to the team and workloads.
You will have had significant exposure to the full finance function and will be a strong communicator and able to balance competing priorities ensuring routine workload along side ad-hoc tasks, analysis and reporting is completed to a high standard within deadlines.
