Role
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within the Scottish Episcopal Church (SEC) for a Net Zero Delivery Director. The SEC has already published its Net Zero Toolkit and Check List and is currently consulting on its Net Zero Action Plan 2023-30.
Your role will be to lead the delivery of the ambitious Net Zero Action Plan, to find creative solutions to real challenges, to provide guidance and resources, to advise churches and liaise with national partners on this important agenda.
You will be part of a national team based at the General Synod Office in Edinburgh reporting to the Secretary General and empowering a team of Net Zero Delivery Managers across the SEC’s seven Dioceses in Scotland. The SEC comprises some 300 churches, with a total membership of about 25,000. The Provincial Environment Group is steering this important work and the postholder will provide progress reports and advice as necessary.

This is a wonderful opportunity to head up a team of talented frontline workers located right across Scotland, as well as play an active role in the Senior Leadership Team, bringing strategic focus and godly wisdom, particularly to the development of our ministry in schools and local communities.
Purpose:
Reporting to the CEO and, as part of the Senior Leadership Team, to bring strategic leadership and spiritual direction to the organisation, specifically to lead and develop the Local Ministries department of the organisation, enabling the fulfilment of the vison of SU Scotland.
Responsibilities:
- Spiritual leadership - demonstrating commitment to the SU Scotland ethos, modelling a Christian lifestyle, values and work practices to staff and volunteers alike.
- Promoting and delivering the agree strategy across the regions of Scotland and regularly evaluating the effectiveness of delivery
- Casting a vision to staff and volunteers in Local Ministries of God’s mission and ensuring that the good news of Jesus is clearly and effectively communicated to children and young people
- Working with and reporting to the Local Ministries Board Committee within the governance structure of SU Scotland
- Planning and chairing regular meetings of the Local Ministries Management Team
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking applicants who have demonstrable senior leadership experience, ideally with experience in the field of Education and/or knowledge of current children and youth trends, specifically within the Scottish educational system. The successful applicant will be theologically astute with an ability to articulate the Christian message in a range of settings, including with young people, staff, in a local church and cross cultural/other religion context. An ability to think strategically and innovatively is also critical.
For this post, it is important that you are committed to SU Scotland’s ethos, working principles and vision and can demonstrate this through your commitment and motivation. It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.
Christ Church Morningside (Scottish Episcopal Church) is seeking to appoint a new Church Manager to be responsible for the management and administration of all resources needed in order to support the life of Christ Church.
Reporting to the Rector, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administration role, and experience of managing and delivering projects (preferably individually and alongside others). Experience of events planning and delivery, facilities management and of Health & Safety legislation, policies, procedures, and risk assessments would be an advantage.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is able to work on their own initiative and to meet deadlines, has strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects, has an demonstrable ability to work with people, strong administrative and IT skills and the ability to confidently communicate with people in writing and verbally to diverse audiences.

Sharing and Repair Network Coordinator – Maternity Cover

Circular Communities Scotland (previously CRNS) is a membership network with a vision for a thriving circular economy in Scotland with local communities benefiting from the social, environmental, and economic outcomes. With a growing membership of over 250 charities and social enterprises we are always looking for new ways to support the circular community’s sector and see our vision become a reality.
In 2022 we began an exciting project funded by the Scottish Government and Zero Waste Scotland, which has the ambitious goals to grow fourfold the number of Sharing Libraries and Repair Cafés in Scotland over the next three years by establishing the Share and Repair Network. The project has made excellent progress during the first 15 months, but we are now seeking a strong candidate to provide maternity cover for our coordinator.
If you are the successful candidate, you will be responsible for running this network. Working with experts within the sector, you will prepare a wide variety of deliverables agreed with our funders including delivering training courses, networking events and an annual in person Gathering, and arranging research projects. This is a real opportunity to significantly increase the amount of sharing and repairing happening in Scotland thereby combatting climate change.
We are also determined to get the right person to join our strong team which is why we are open to exploring different options regarding place of work from office based to remote working.
We are looking for a strong self-starter with a proven track record of delivery so you can hit the ground running. You need to be a strong communicator, self-organised and able to manage a complex range of deliverables over a fairly short period of time. You need to be passionate about the circular economy and sustainability in general and some experience of our sector would be positive.

We are SafeLives, the UK-wide charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse, for everyone and for good.
Last year alone, 14,000 professionals received our training. Over 80,000 adults at risk of serious harm or murder and more than 100,000 children received support through dedicated multi-agency support designed by us and delivered with partners. Role summary
You will drive the strategic development of all our work in Scotland, delivering our Whole Picture strategy and our whole family approach to keeping families safe sooner.
You will lead the Scotland team, drawing on our data, practice and survivor voice to define our strategy in Scotland, set our policy messages, design our services, deliver our training, and influence stakeholders to bring about positive change. You’ll also work closely with all SafeLives teams, playing a key part in sharing learning from across the UK where relevant.
You’ll have strong strategic leadership skills combined with a clear practice focus, and an excellent understanding of the specific needs of Scotland in terms of the work of SafeLives, including a strong grasp of the Scottish Government’s VAWG strategy and other relevant policy areas, including Equally Safe.
You will ensure the delivery of four key workstreams in Scotland, covering our professional training offer, the development of effective multi-agency working in Scotland, the accreditation of services and professional standards, and ensuring the authentic voice of survivors of domestic abuse play a key role in our work. And you will continue to develop our reach and impact, identifying opportunities beyond our existing funded programmes and initiatives.
