The Coalition of Care and Support Providers is the voice of not-for-profit social care providers in Scotland and we are growing. With new funding, we want to employ a new team of policy and project officers to help us drive change as part of a forward looking, successful team.

CCPS is at the heart of influencing Scotland’s radical social care reform agenda. The role and recruitment process

We are looking for policy professionals with strong social policy skills and experience, a commitment to collaboration and a creative focus on finding solutions in a complex landscape. You do not need to be specific subject specialists, but you will have a curious mind and willingness to learn.

We are currently advertising for Policy and Projects Officer posts in the following areas:

• Workforce (full time)

• Commissioning and Procurement (full time)

• Criminal Justice (4 days per week or full time) with the Criminal Justice Voluntary Sector Forum

• National social care reform and resilience (three days per week, 9 months)

ELCAP is a Scottish charity which provides care and support for individuals who are affected by learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health problems.

A vacancy has created a rare opportunity to join our back-office team at an exciting time in our organisation’s development. Reporting to our Business Manager, our Finance Officer will provide a payroll service to 300 staff and be responsible for ensuring invoices are raised and payments made on time.

Job context

The purpose of the post is to work as part of a team to support the effective and efficient management of ELCAP. The post has three areas of responsibility:

• Providing accounts and finance services.
• Providing payroll services.
• Supporting the management of the charity’s human resources.
• Recording and Reporting

This is a permanent post of 35 hours per week.

Essential

• Demonstrated experience in a finance administrative role
• Relevant qualification on finance / book keeping / accounts
• Experience in invoicing and purchase ledger

Skills

• Very good interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to people from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
• Very good communication skills, in verbal and written forms.
• Ability to work well within a team and work on your own initiative
• Competence in recording and reporting and analysis of data
• Excellent IT skills across the main Microsoft products, ideally with Sage accounts and Sage payroll
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure in order to meet internal and external deadlines
• Ability to consistently demonstrate the highest levels of personal and professional integrity and accountability, including consistent attention to detail.
• Ability to be resourceful and solutions focused with enthusiasm and a positive outlook.

Experience

• Experience of working in a busy and varied finance post.

Angus Service

Our Turning Point Scotland Services in Angus Learning Disabilities & Autism are looking for people like you to help provide individualised support to adults with a wide range of needs, either on an individual 1:1 basis or alongside others and as part of a team.

Turning Point Scotland’s Angus service is a support service that provides support to individuals with complex needs including learning disability and autism. We provide support to people in their own homes living in the community and support them with every day opportunities that promotes independence and choice. We strive to enable people to access everyday life experiences including access to education, employment/volunteering and social activities. We will also provide support with developing relationships and maintaining a home. We work in partnership with health teams, social work teams, Community justice teams, Police and advocacy.

The support we provide is always person centred, we do this by involving people who know the person well, this includes family and friends, other health and Social Work professionals, Advocacy services and our own staff members.

About Us

The North East Recovery Service is a one-stop shop which offers a full range of drug and alcohol treatment and support services. We are a multi - disciplinary team comprising of TPS, NHS and social work staff. We are based within our main office in Leith, the Access Place in the Old Town, a satellite location in Craigmillar, and in Spittal Street - the Central Prescribing Team, where you'll be based.

The Central Prescribing Team is based at Spittal St and is part of Edinburgh's response to ensure rapid access to medication assisted treatment for those struggling with opiate addiction.

About You

You will be passionate about harm reduction, believe recovery is possible for all and have ability to connect and build positive relationships with people.

Knowledge or lived experience of drug related harms and/or experience of supporting individuals with a drug or alcohol dependency is desirable. Applications from those who have worked in homeless , mental health and criminal justice services will be considered who could bring transferable skills. Comprehensive training be provided . Working hours for service are Monday to Friday 8.30 to 4.30 with some evening work.

As a Support Practitioner, your role will be to support individuals to attend the clinic, support them through the titration process and then engage with long term support in recovery in their local community . This role will give you an opportunity to be part of a multi-agency team working together within the Central Prescribing Team.
