Role

Are you passionate about tackling the climate emergency?

Changeworks is ambitious about reducing carbon emissions and fuel poverty. But to reach our goals and national net zero targets, we need to better understand energy use, energy efficiency, and heat demand in Scotland. This is where you come in.

We’re looking for a talented data analyst to join our growing Consultancy Team.

The Team

Our industry-leading consultancy team provide tailored, expert analysis to many organisations, including local authorities and housing associations, to plan their low carbon future.

Our monitoring and evaluation specialists can evidence that impact now and into the future. The team also apply the latest in behaviour science to deliver lasting impacts that make a real difference. The work our consultancy team does requires a substantial amount of quantitative data analysis, which is where your role fits in.

The Role

Working with the Senior Data Consultant and Data Consultant, you’ll be key to providing quality data analysis to support projects across the consultancy team. You’ll enjoy working in your close-knit team, as well as working on projects independently.

You’ll use your skills in data analysis and data presentation to collate, process, analysis, and model a variety of data from various sources. You could be working on variety of subjects from property analysis and energy use data, to low carbon heat and fuel poverty.

You’ll have experience presenting results, using data analysis visualisation in the form of maps and dashboards or online dynamic reports, so results are easily understood by non-specialists.

Your role will draw on your advanced knowledge of Excel and your experience using GIS mapping(mapping data and basic spatial analysis). If you have experience with programming languages like R or Python, or a knowledge of SQL, that would be advantageous.

You’ll use your excellent eye to detail and organisation skills to deliver high quality reports to deadlines. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to learn new methods, software, and analysis topics in your role.

If you are enthusiastic about learning and looking to bring your data analysis skills to the environmental sector; then we can’t wait to welcome, you to the team.

Benefits

Changeworks is a great place to work. We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation (something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year. Our staff overwhelmingly would recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area. These include area-based domestic energy efficiency retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious objectives. We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives. You’ll receive full training plus coaching and mentoring.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.

At Changeworks, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone.
