Role
Scottish Drugs Forum (SDF) is Scotland’s national resource of expertise on drugs and drug-related issues. A membership-based registered charity, which works towards the reduction of drug related harm in Scotland through a range of varied programmes of work. Including programmes of work on:
- work relating to the prevention of drug-related deaths; the prevention of blood-borne virus transmission and improved sexual and reproductive health for people who use substances
- workforce development and a training and employment programme to help people gain employment in substance use and related services
- peer research and supporting living experience groups; supporting and empowering people to be involved in policy and practice development
- conferences, webinars and policy briefings for a full range of stakeholders.
SDF was established in 1986 and has over 45 staff members.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, challenging and stimulating environment with a range of stakeholders in the drugs sector including Government, elected representatives, the media, statutory and voluntary sector services and people with lived and living experience of problem substance use.
You will bring extensive experience of managing projects and people in the area of substance use or a related field. You will have worked at a strategic level as well as having a strong track record of designing, developing, securing funding for and managing the delivery of projects.
The CEO’s role is to
- lead and manage the organisation, working with the Board to ensure that organisational structure and accountabilities are aligned with strategic and operational requirements
- develop SDF’s strategic and work plans.
- provide vision and communicate a clear and inspiring strategic direction to staff and external stakeholders.
- motivate and align staff with SDF’s strategic direction
- model behaviour that is an exemplar of SDF’s values.
This is a national post that involves working from home and from a Glasgow office base.

Alcohol Focus Scotland (AFS) is Scotland’s national alcohol charity, committed to preventing and reducing harm to individuals, families, communities and Scotland as a whole.
Who we are looking for
We wish to recruit up to five new Directors to join our Board. In particular, we are looking for individuals who have skills, expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas of policy, practice and governance:
Policy and practice:
- public health, Alcohol and Drugs Partnerships or alcohol service provision research and or policy development in a relevant field (e.g. alcohol or commercial determinants of health, alcohol marketing)
- public affairs or campaigns
- the impact of alcohol on children, young people and families
- business development and delivery of training to external stakeholders
Governance:
- finance and fundraising
- charity and organisational governance (incl. human resources, equality and diversity, health and safety, data protection)
- legal knowledge relevant to AFS’s objectives (e.g. licensing law)

Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) is Fife’s main third sector alcohol and substance misuse charity. FASS has been working on the frontline, supporting people through their issues with misuse and on to better lives for over 40 years now. Our many services range from therapeutic counselling to practical support, and we help individuals, their families and communities Fife-wide.
As our chosen candidate, you will extend this ethos of enablement throughout our dedicated teams. The organisation has evolved rapidly in recent years and we are now looking to consolidate and expand strengths across our range of services. On appointment, you will have the unique opportunity of taking FASS to its next stage of development.

Lead Course Tutor

- Based within the GCA office in North Claremont Street, Glasgow with hybrid working (Hybrid)

GCA deliver services over 6 days per week and throughout Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire
Role:
The Diploma in Integrative Counselling is 2-year course, credit rated at SCQF level 10 by the University of the West of Scotland, and validation from COSCA. GCA is one of the founding COSCA members and adheres to the COSCA ethical framework for good practice in counselling, psychotherapy and counselling skills. The course requires lead tutors who are accredited by COSCA to Diploma level or committed to work towards accreditation. Tutors should be experienced Counsellors who are accredited with an appropriate professional body, or working towards accreditation (e.g., COSCA/BACP/UKCP).
The Lead Course Tutor will have responsibility for two Diploma Courses, leading on one weekly class and one weekend class.
The Lead Course Tutor will be expected to contribute to a GCA CPD calendar, writing and delivering on content agreed with the Course Director.
The Lead Course Tutor will support the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of the Diploma in Integrative Counselling.

Glasgow Council on Alcohol (GCA) was founded in 1965 and is the oldest established Council on Alcohol in Scotland. GCA is a voluntary organisation working to reduce the harm caused by alcohol misuse through the provision of a range of high quality advice, information, counselling, support, prevention and education and training services.
Clued Up has an exciting opportunity to join our existing core team of staff providing a comprehensive “youth friendly” substance use support and information service for young people 12 - 26 years in the Glenrothes and North East area of Fife. Providing one to one support, group work programmes, street work, partnership working and supporting the existing Project Workers.
